The Journal of the Dental Association of South Africa = Die Tydskrif van die Tandheelkundige Vereniging van Suid-Afrika, 1990Although benign migratory stomatitis (BMS) was first reported in the literature as early as 1955 (Cooke), fewer than 40 cases have been recorded. This article reviews the literature and describes a case of BMS involving the ventral surface of the tongue of a 74-year-old male. This is the first South African case to be reported.
