The effect of solvent on the kinetics of the oxidation of benzaldehydes by quinolinium chlorochromate in aqueous organic solvent media [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2002
The kinetics of the oxidation of benzaldehyde and para-substituted benzaldehydes by quinolinium chlorochromate in water-dimethylformamide mixtures has been studied under pseudo-first-order conditions at 25±0.2ºC.

A Cholesterol Analogue for Cell‐Surface Enzyme Display

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
We report a non‐genetic strategy for bacterial cell surface enzyme immobilisation using cholesterol‐based artificial lipids containing Ni2+‐NTA binding groups that can integrate into biological membranes. The engineered cells can capture His‐tagged enzymes directly from cell lysates while preserving intracellular and surface activity, allowing for ...

Carboranyl‐Curcuminoids for the Neutron Capture‐Based Treatment of Amyloid Aggregates in Alzheimer's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The 10B‐enriched monocarbonyl analog of curcumin (BMAC) 10B‐9 enables site‐specific Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) on amyloid‐β (Aβ) fibrils. Neutron irradiation induces histidine oxidation and fibril destabilization, as revealed by 1H‐NMR and FESEM analyses.

Enantioselective Synthesis of Axially Chiral Diaryl Ethers via Rhodium‐Catalyzed [2 + 2 + 2] Cycloaddition

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
An enantioselective rhodium‐catalyzed [2 + 2 + 2] cycloaddition enables the synthesis of axially chiral diaryl ethers. Carbonyl coordination ensures high reactivity and regioselectivity, affording products bearing up to four stereogenic axes with good enantio‐ and diastereoselectivity.

Oxidation of benzaldehyde in some multiphase betaine-benzaldehyde-water systems

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology, 1964
Abstract The results of oxidation studies in ternary multiphase betaine-benzaldehyde-water systems show that the maximum rate of oxidation depends primarily on the benzaldehyde content and composition of the phase with the shortest induction period in the system under examination.

Dynamic Self‐Clickable Decellularized Matrix Hydrogels for Regulating Vascularity and Enhancing Muscle Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dynamic decellularized hydrogels are prepared using bovine decellularized small intestine submucosa (SIS) norbornene (dSIS‐NB). Bovine dSIS contained significant amounts of disulfide‐rich fibrillin‐I, enabling ‘self‐clickable’ thiol‐norbornene gelation and spatiotemporal tuning of hydrogel physicochemical properties.
