Catalyst poisoning in the benzene hydrogenation

Chemical Engineering Science, 1983
The kinetic of benzene hydrogenation and poisoning of Ni-Al2O3 catalyst was studied in isothermal differential reactor. It was found that activity of catalyst decreases linearly with increasing amount of poison until greater part of the catalyst has been deactivated.

Blue‐shifting hydrogen bond in the benzene–benzene and benzene–naphthalene complexes

Journal of Computational Chemistry, 2006
AbstractAb initiocomplete optimizations at MP2/6‐31++G** level have been performed in the T‐shaped geometry of the benzene–benzene and benzene–naphthalene complexes. To check the effect of the basis set superposition error (BSSE), optimizations have been done in the BSSE corrected and BSSE uncorrected potential energy surfaces.

Benzene Forms Hydrogen Bonds with Water

Science, 1992
Fully rotationally resolved spectra of three isotopic species of 1:1 clusters of benzene with water (H 2 O, D 2 O, and HDO) were fit to yield moments of inertia that demonstrate unambiguously that water is positioned above the benzene plane in nearly free internal rotation with both hydrogen ...
