Possible effect of hyperconjugation on solvolysis rates of benzhydryl chlorides and spectra of related compounds

Tetrahedron, 1959
Abstract The near ultraviolet absorption spectra of a series of benz cyclo alkenes have been determined. A minimum in the absorption band near 270 mμ has been observed for benz cyclo heptene. It appears significant that this same inflexion occurs in the solvolysis rates for the related benzhydryl chlorides.

Structural requirements for 2,4- and 3,6-disubstituted pyran biomimetics of cis-(6-benzhydryl-piperidin-3-yl)-benzylamine compounds to interact with monoamine transporters

Bioorganic and Medicinal Chemistry, 2004
In our effort to delineate novel pharmacophoric configuration of bioisosteric pyran versions of cis-(6-benzhydryl-piperidin-3-yl)-benzylamine derivatives in interacting with the monoamine transporter, further structure-activity relationship study was carried out.

Synthesis and antimicrobial studies of novel 1-benzhydryl-piperazine sulfonamide and carboxamide derivatives [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Enzyme Inhibition and Medicinal Chemistry, 2008
A series of novel substituted 1-benzhydryl-piperazine sulfonamide 8(a–f) and benzamides 9(a–h) were synthesized and their antimicrobial activities evaluated in vitro by paper disc diffusion and micro dilution method against standard strains of Gram ...

1-Benzhydryl-3-phenylurea and 1-Benzhydryl-3-phenylthiourea Derivatives:  New Templates among the CB1 Cannabinoid Receptor Inverse Agonists

open access: yesJournal of Medicinal Chemistry, 2005
New 1-benzhydryl-3-phenylurea derivatives and their 1-benzhydryl-3-phenylthiourea isosteres were synthesized and evaluated for their human CB1 and CB2 cannabinoid receptor affinity. These compounds proved to be selective CB1 cannabinoid receptor ligands,
