Upon reduction of 1,4‐diaza‐1,3‐diene 1 to the dilithium enediamide 2, the polarity of the C = N bonds is reversed ‐ a classic case of umpolung. This behavior is particularly evident in reactions of the dianion 2 with carbonyl compounds and also explains why 1,4‐diaza‐1,3‐diene ligands do not always act merely as spectator ligands. 1,4‐Diaza‐1,3‐dienes

Chemoselective hydride abstractor iminometalloids, derived from O‐mesylacetoxime (MAO) using Rh2(II/II) or Cu(I) catalysts, can activate the C–Hα bonds of alcohols and aldehydes ultimately forming ketones, carboxylic acids, and esters even in the presence of C–H bonds with comparable bond strengths.

Rhodium‐Catalyzed Carbene Transfer to Isocyanides Using Zinc Carbenoids
A diazo‐free rhodium‐catalyzed carbene transfer to isocyanides using zinc carbenoids generated from α‐acyloxy halides is reported. This mild protocol furnishes ketenimines that can either be hydrolyzed to amides or intercepted with trimethylsilyl azide or carboxylic acids to give tetrazoles and imides, respectively.

The conversion of 1‐halogenothioxanthones into 1‐(acetylamino) derivatives and their NaH‐mediated cyclization have been optimized. This rapid method yields thiochromeno[4,3,2‐de]quinol‐2‐ones that exhibit promising in vitro anticancer activity. Inherited metabolic epilepsies–established diseases, new approaches
Abstract Inherited metabolic epilepsies (IMEs) represent the inherited metabolic disorders (IMDs) in which epilepsy is a prevailing component, often determining other neurodevelopmental outcomes associated with the disorder. The different metabolic pathways affected by individual IMEs are the basis of their rarity and heterogeneity.

The research progress in polyethylene oxide polymer electrolytes
Polyethylene oxide (PEO) has become the mainstream matrix material for solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) due to its excellent lithium salt complexation ability and processability. However, its high crystallinity results in low ionic conductivity at room temperature and difficulty in suppressing lithium dendrite growth, which significantly hinders the ...
