Morphological Modification of Metal Oxide Nanomaterials Using Different Types of Organic Modifiers

The study reveals the interaction between organic modifiers and metal oxide nanoparticles to tune the structure for improving final applications. Organic modifiers make incorporating nanoparticles into composite components easier, improving their optical, mechanical, and electrical characteristics.

FeCl3‐Catalyzed Synthesis of Ynones from Silylated Alkynes and Acetic Anhydride

The synthesis of alkynones from silylated alkynes and acid chlorides, first reported by Birkhofer in 1963, remains a valuable transformation. However, its reliance on stoichiometric AlCl3 and corrosive reagents raises environmental and practical concerns. To address this, a greener protocol using catalytic FeCl3 and acetic anhydride is developed.
