Benzopyran derivatives from Mallotus apelta
Phytochemistry, 2001From the leaves of Mallotus apelta, seven benzopyran compounds were obtained and their structures were determined using spectroscopic methods. One showed moderate antibiotic activity against Micrococcus lutens.

Bioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry, 1996The antimicrobial substances in sunflower (Helianthus annuus) were investigated. Two antifungal benzopyran derivatives, 6-acetyl-2,2-dimethyl-1,2-benzopyran (1) and 6-acetyl-7-hydroxy-2,2-dimethyl-1,2-benzopyran (2), were isolated from the ethanol extract of sunflower receptacles.
