β‐Ketosulfides can be generated in a single step through direct coupling of epoxides and thiols, catalyzed by a Ru(II)–pincer complex. This process requires no substrate preactivation with leaving groups or the use of additives, and liberates H2 gas as a byproduct.

An “on‐water” scalable Pd‐catalyzed heteroannulation delivers benzofurans and furopyridines at ultralow catalyst loadings (down to 0.005 mol%), providing products essentially free of palladium residues. In addition to a broad substrate scope (aryl, alkenyl, and alkyl alkynes with o‐iodophenols or 2‐iodo‐3‐hydroxypyridines), this protocol enables a new ...

A simple, mild, and safe electrophilic chalcogenocyclization reaction of a diverse array of alkynyl chalcogenoanisoles is depicted. The reactions are mediated by Selectfluor, as a stable, easy‐to‐handle, nontoxic, and safe oxidizing agent. Several 3‐chalcogenyl‐benzo[b]chalcogenophenes were obtained in moderate to excellent yields.
