Nickel Foam Electrodes—A Versatile, Powerful, and Readily Available Tool in Electro‐Organic Synthesis

open access: yesThe Chemical Record, EarlyView.
Nickel foam—one material, two faces, and several versatile roles depending on electrolytic conditions. For more than 50 years, nickel foam electrodes have served in electrosynthesis as powerful and readily available electrode materials. Due to their inexpensive nature and easy handling, they have been widely employed.

Hypersensitivity to Excipients in Drugs: An EAACI Position Paper

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Drugs contain active pharmaceutical ingredients and excipients, compounds which enhance the pharmacokinetics, stability and palatability of the pharmaceutical formulation. While most drug hypersensitivity reactions (DHR) are caused by active ingredients, excipients may also be involved.

Benzyl alcohol allergy

Australasian Journal of Dermatology, 1995
SUMMARYA 63 year old woman presented with a 3 year history of vulval lichen sclerosus et alrophicus and vulval dermatitis resistant to multiple topical therapies. She was patch test positive to 5% benzyl alcohol which is a widely used preservative in topical creams and a component in balsam of Peru.

Conformational studies of benzyl alcohol and benzyl fluoride

International Journal of Quantum Chemistry, 2004
AbstractThe conformations of several benzyl compounds, C6H5CH2X, have been characterized by rotational spectra and theoretical structure calculations. We have observed the microwave spectrum of benzyl alcohol and its OD isotopomer at high resolution in a pulsed‐jet Fourier transform microwave spectrometer.

Inhibition of autophagy by benzyl alcohol

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - General Subjects, 1984
Benzyl alcohol caused a rather complete and selective inhibition of the methylamine sensitive (i.e., the putative lysosomal) pathway of protein degradation in isolated rat hepatocytes. The effect was found to be entirely reversible within 30 min of removing the agent.

Benzylation of benzene with benzyl alcohol on zeolite catalysts

Applied Catalysis A: General, 2011
Abstract The catalytic liquid phase benzylation of benzene to diphenylmethane (DPM) with benzyl alcohol (BnOH) was investigated over various zeolite catalysts (HSZ 600 mordenite, CBV 20A mordenite, H-beta zeolites with Si/Al of 10.8 and 35.8, respectively) at 353–423 K and under atmospheric pressure, using three reaction methodologies: (A) by adding ...
