Benzyl alcohol oxidation with Pd-Zn/TiO2: computational and experimental studies. [PDF]

open access: yesSci Technol Adv Mater, 2019
Pd–Zn/TiO2 catalysts containing 1 wt% total metal loading, but with different Pd to Zn ratios, were prepared using a modified impregnation method and tested in the solvent-free aerobic oxidation of benzyl alcohol.

Oxidant-Free Electrochemical Direct Oxidative Benzyl Alcohols to Benzyl Aldehydes Using Three-Dimensional Printing PPAR Polyoxometalate

open access: yesMolecules, 2023
The oxidation of benzyl alcohols is an important reaction in organic synthesis. Traditional methods for benzyl alcohol oxidation have not been widely utilized due to the use of significant amounts of precious metals and environmentally unfriendly reagents.

Selective Benzyl Alcohol Oxidation over Pd Catalysts [PDF]

open access: yesCatalysts, 2018
In the last decades, the selective liquid phase oxidation of alcohols to the corresponding carbonyl compounds has been a subject of growing interest. Research has focused on green methods that use “clean” oxidants such as O2 in combination with supported metal nanoparticles as the catalyst.

Synthesis of Benzylic Alcohols by C–H Oxidation [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the American Chemical Society, 2019
Selective methylene C-H oxidation for the synthesis of alcohols with a broad scope and functional group tolerance is challenging due to the high proclivity for further oxidation of alcohols to ketones. Here, we report the selective synthesis of benzylic alcohols employing bis(methanesulfonyl) peroxide as an oxidant.

Ruthenium/NHC-catalyzed tandem benzylic oxidation/oxidative esterification of benzylic alcohols with phenols

open access: yesCatalysis Communications, 2012
Abstract An efficient methodology to access benzoate derivatives via tandem benzylic oxidation/oxidative esterification of benzylic alcohols with phenols catalyzed by ruthenium/NHC was developed. This operationally simple one-pot process uses O 2 as the clean oxidant, producing esters in good to excellent yields.

Investigations of supported Au-Pd nanoparticles on synthesized CeO2 with different morphologies and application in solvent-free benzyl alcohol oxidation

open access: yesApplications of Surface Science, 2020
Au-Pd bimetallic nanoparticles immobilized on series of CeO2 supports with different morphologies, e.g., rod, cube, and polyhedrons were prepared through the deposition-precipitation method with a consequent investigation on their catalytic performances ...

Pd Nanoclusters Supported by Amine-Functionalized Covalent Organic Frameworks for Benzyl Alcohol Oxidation

open access: yesACS Applied Nano Materials, 2020
A major impediment of the incorporation of extra functional groups on skeletons of covalent organic frameworks (COFs) is the long-ordered microporosity over their networks.
