Tautomerism in Salicylidene Benzylamine
Spectroscopy Letters, 1992Abstract The UV spectra of substituted salicylidene benzylamine schiff bases were studied in four solvents. It was found that substituents which increase the electronic effect and not the steric compression effect in these compounds increase the percentage of the keto form. The intensity (i.e. % keto) of the keto band which occurs at > 400 nm in the UV

Oxidation of Benzylamines to Amides
Synthetic Communications, 1997Abstract A convenient method for the conversion of tertiary benzylamines to benzamides by phase transfer oxidation is described. Yields are good. Regioselectivities are reported.

Reactions of Benzylamine with Sulfur
Canadian Journal of Chemistry, 1971A five-step sequence has been established for the room temperature reaction of sulfur with benzylamine. Benzylamine polysulfides and benzylidenimine polysulfides occur as interconverting intermediates in this system. The final products are benzylammonium polysulfides, ammonia, and N-benzylidene benzylamine.

Inhibition of uptake of catecholamines by benzylamine derivatives
Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 1979Eight benzylamine analogues of bretylium were synthesized, including N-(2-chloroethyl)-N-ethyl-2-methylbenzylamine (5), and evaluated as inhibitors of accumulation of norepinephrine and dopamine in rat brain homogenates. All compounds gave an I50 value (concentration of inhibitor that causes 50% reduction in control accumulation) considerably lower ...

The cellular distribution of the metabolic deamination of benzylamine
Life Sciences, 1980Abstract The metabolism of benzylamine was investigated using the 600g supernatant, mitochondrial, microsomal and cytosol fractions of different rat organs and the livers of various animal species. This substrate was extensively deaminated to benzaldehyde, benzyl alcohol and benzoic acid.

The Kinetics of Reoxidation of Reduced Benzylamine Oxidase
European Journal of Biochemistry, 1977The mechanism of reoxidation of reduced benzylamine oxidase has been investigated at different pH between 6 and 10 by steady‐state and transient‐state kinetic methods. The reoxidation process involves minimally a second‐order interaction between reduced enzyme and oxygen leading to the formation of a spectrally modified enzyme intermediate, and a ...

REACTION OF BORIC ACID WITH BENZYLAMINE

The cyclopalladation reaction of benzylamine revisited
Polyhedron, 2003Abstract The reaction of benzylamine and palladium(II) acetate in a one-to-one molar ratio in toluene or in glacial acetic acid at 60 °C for 24 h produced the acetato bridged cyclopalladated dimer of benzylamine (μ-OAc) 2 [Pd(C 6 H 4 CH 2 NH 2 )] 2 ( 1 ) in yields of 40–75% and of 20–40%, respectively.

Bindung ringsubstituierter Benzylamine an Lecithin
