Cytotoxicity reduction by O-nicotinoylation of antiviral 6-benzylaminopurine ribonucleosides
Toxicology in Vitro, 2022One of the promising approaches in the development of nucleoside prodrugs is to use the nucleoside analogs containing lipophilic biodegradable residues, which are cleaved to biologically active forms after metabolic transformations in the cell. The introduction of such fragments makes it possible to reduce the general toxicity of the drug candidate and

Thermochemistry of copper complex of 6-benzylaminopurine
Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry, 2008The copper(II) complex of 6-benzylaminopurine (6-BAP) has been prepared with dihydrated cupric chloride and 6-benzylaminopurine. Infrared spectrum and thermal stabilities of the solid complex have been discussed. The constant-volume combustion energy, ΔcU, has been determined as −12566.92±6.44 kJ mol−1 by a precise rotating-bomb calorimeter at 298.15 K.

Effects of benzylaminopurine on mango fruit ripening
Food Chemistry, 1981Abstract The total and reducing sugars, organic acid and free amino acid contents of the edible portions of mango (cv. Boribo) were determined in unripe and ripe fruits, both treated and untreated with benzylaminopurine (BA). Total and reducing sugar contents were increased and organic acids and free amino acid contents were decreased after ripening

Uptake and metabolism of 6‐benzylaminopurine in shoot cultures of
Physiologia Plantarum, 1991Shoots of Gerbera jamesonii Bolus, cultured in vitro were induced to multiply by the addition of 2.22 μM 6‐benzylaminopurine (BAP) to the medium. Shoots growing in the presence of [14C]‐BAP were harvested every 4 days and sub‐divided into petioles plus apices, laminae and basal callus.

Synthesis of raphanatin and its 6-benzylaminopurine analogue
Journal of the Chemical Society, Chemical Communications, 1975The complete structures of raphanatin, the stable zeatin metabolite isolated from de-rooted radish seedlings, and the analogous 6-benzylaminopurine metabolite from the same plant system, have been confirmed by synthesis to be the 7-β-D-glucopyranosides of zeatin and 6-BAP respectively.

Synthesis of 2-fluoro-6-benzylaminopurine and other purine derivatives
Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1961Abstract The effects of a 2-fluoro substituent and of the replacement of the imidazole ring by a triazole ring upon the biological activities of a 6-(substituted)purine were determined. The 2-fluoro and 2-amino-8-aza analogs of 6-benzylaminopurine were synthesized, and the 2-fluoro but not the 2-amino-8-aza derivative was found to replace kinetin in ...

Hitherto all the experiments describing the effects of benzylaminopurine (BAP) on metabolic activities have been made with leaf disks, with intact leaves at different stages of ageing, or with leaves from different position on the stem (Naito et al 1978).

Cytidine methylation in buds released from dormancy with 6-benzylaminopurine
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1970Abstract This paper shows that the methylation of macromolecules of tobacco buds occurs during the early phases of bud release from dormancy by the exogenous application of 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP). We also show by co-chromatography with authentic 5-methylcytidine that one of the methylated nucleosides recovered from macromolecules of stimulated ...

Potentiometric and Voltammetric Study of 6‐Benzylaminopurine and Its Derivatives
Electroanalysis, 2012AbstractThe protonation‐deprotonation equilibrium of 6‐benzylaminopurine (6‐BAP) and its derivatives was studied by potentiometry and voltammetry. The effect of Cl‐ or OCH3‐group in position 2′, 3′ and 4′ of the benzene ring of 6‐BAP on both pKa values was investigated.

Restorative Morphogenesis in vitro in the Annual Medic in the Presence of Benzylaminopurine
Russian Journal of Developmental Biology, 2002Four annual medic species (Medicago orbicularis (L.) All., M. rigidula (L.) Desr., M. scutellata (L.) Miller, and M. rugosa Desr.) were used as model objects for studying the spectrum of morphogenetic reactions in vitro. The seeds were incubated on nutrient media with benzylaminopurine at different concentrations until germination and, thereafter, the ...
