Spatiotemporally Controlled Soft Robotics with Optically Responsive Liquid Crystal Elastomers
Advanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 6, June 2025.The article develops a machine vision‐based and tetherless control of a soft robotic arm made from azobenzene liquid crystal elastomers (azoLCEs). A convolutional neural network predicts the light patterns needed for desired arm configurations, enabling precise, remote actuation of a homogeneous material.
