Impact of climate change on wheat security through an alternate host of stripe rust
In the 21st century, stripe rust, caused by Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici (Pst), is still the most devastating disease of wheat globally. Despite the critical roles of the alternate host plants, the Berberis species, in the sexual reproduction and ...

Heat Stress in Quail: Impacts on Health and Productivity, and Mitigation Strategies
Heat stress disrupts physiological homeostasis in quail, inducing oxidative stress, immune dysregulation, and metabolic imbalance, which impair growth, reproduction, product quality, and welfare. Integrating nutritional, environmental, and genetic–epigenetic strategies enhances thermotolerance, sustains productivity, and supports climate‐smart quail ...

Risk assessments of invasive species present one of the most challenging applications of species distribution models (SDMs) due to the fundamental issues of distributional disequilibrium, niche changes, and truncation. Invasive species often occupy only a fraction of their potential environmental and geographic ranges, as their spatiotemporal dynamics ...

ABSTRACT Value‐added utilization of resources can be developed from by‐products of agricultural processing. In this study, a neutral polysaccharide (BSLP‐1, 19,799 Da) was obtained from bamboo shoot processing liquid. Structurally, BSLP‐1 has a backbone of →4)‐α‐D‐Glcp‐(1→ and →4,6)‐α‐D‐Glcp‐(1→, with side chains of →5)‐α‐L‐Araf‐(1→ and α‐D‐Glcp‐(1→6 ...

Some physical properties of sun-dried Berberis fruit (Berberis crataegina) [PDF]
The present study was conducted to evaluate some physical properties of sun dried Berberis fruit as a function of moisture content, varying from 9.59% to 27.90% (w.b.). Dried fruit length, width, thickness, geometric mean diameter and sphericity, increased nonlinearly from 7.19 to 7.53 mm; 3.42 to 4.03 mm; 2.78 to 3.02 mm; 4.05 to 4.51 mm and 0.56 to 0.
