This book presents the results from the joint USSR/USA Bering Sea Experiment (BESEX), which took place in the central Bering Sea marginal ice zone in February–March 1973. The BESEX program was conceived following the 1971 preliminary Soviet‐American negotiations on scientific cooperation in the observation of meteorological phenomena from space.
