Side‐On Bonded Beryllium Dinitrogen Complexes [PDF]

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, 2020
AbstractThe preparation and spectroscopic identification of the complexes NNBe(η2‐N2) and (NN)2Be(η2‐N2) and the energetically higher lying isomers Be(NN)2and Be(NN)3are reported. NNBe(η2‐N2) and (NN)2Be(η2‐N2) are the first examples of covalently side‐on bonded N2adducts of a main‐group element.

Be3Ru: Polar Multiatomic Bonding in the Closest Packing of Atoms

open access: yesChemistryOpen, 2022
The new phase Be3Ru crystallizes with TiCu3‐type structure (space group Pmmn (59), a=3.7062(1) Å, b=4.5353(1) Å, c=4.4170(1) Å), a coloring variant of the hexagonal closest packing (hcp) of spheres.

Bonding situations in tricoordinated beryllium phenyl complexes

open access: yesJournal of Computational Chemistry, 2022
AbstractThe bonding situation in the tricoordinated beryllium phenyl complexes [BePh3]−, [(pyridine)BePh2] and [(trimethylsilyl‐N‐heterocyclic imine)BePh2] is investigated experimentally and computationally. Comparison of the NMR spectroscopic properties of these complexes and of their structural parameters, which were determined by single crystal X ...

Raman microscopy to characterize plasma-wall interaction materials: from carbon era to metallic walls

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2023
Plasma-wall interaction in magnetic fusion devices is responsible for wall changes and plasma pollution with major safety issues. It is investigated both in situ and ex situ , especially by realizing large scale dedicated post-mortem campaigns.

Anomalous two-photon Compton scattering

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2021
X-ray free-electron lasers can generate radiation pulses with extreme peak intensities at short wavelengths. This enables the investigation of laser–matter interactions in a regime of high fields, yet at a non-relativistic ponderomotive potential, where ...

The three-electron bond in chlorine dioxide [PDF]

open access: yes, 1933
The stability of certain molecules(1) containing an odd number of electrons has been explained on the basis of the formation of three-electron bonds.

Cooperativity in beryllium bonds

open access: yesPhys. Chem. Chem. Phys., 2014
Positive cooperativity is found in beryllium bonded complexes similar to that described for hydrogen bonded systems.

Insights into Molecular Beryllium–Silicon Bonds [PDF]

open access: yesInorganics, 2017
We present the synthesis of two silyl beryllium halides HypSiBeX∙(thf) (HypSi = Si(SiMe3)3, X = Cl 2a, I 4a) and the molecular structure of 2a as determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. Compounds 2a and 4a were characterized via multi-nuclear NMR spectroscopy (1H, 9Be, 13C, 29Si), and the bonding situation was further investigated using quantum

The influence of orbital rotation on the energy of closed-shell wavefunctions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The orbital dependence of closed-shell wavefunction energies is investigated by performing doubly-occupied configuration interaction (DOCI) calculations, representing the most general class of these wavefunctions.
