Side‐On Bonded Beryllium Dinitrogen Complexes [PDF]
AbstractThe preparation and spectroscopic identification of the complexes NNBe(η2‐N2) and (NN)2Be(η2‐N2) and the energetically higher lying isomers Be(NN)2and Be(NN)3are reported. NNBe(η2‐N2) and (NN)2Be(η2‐N2) are the first examples of covalently side‐on bonded N2adducts of a main‐group element.

Be3Ru: Polar Multiatomic Bonding in the Closest Packing of Atoms
The new phase Be3Ru crystallizes with TiCu3‐type structure (space group Pmmn (59), a=3.7062(1) Å, b=4.5353(1) Å, c=4.4170(1) Å), a coloring variant of the hexagonal closest packing (hcp) of spheres.

Bonding situations in tricoordinated beryllium phenyl complexes
AbstractThe bonding situation in the tricoordinated beryllium phenyl complexes [BePh3]−, [(pyridine)BePh2] and [(trimethylsilyl‐N‐heterocyclic imine)BePh2] is investigated experimentally and computationally. Comparison of the NMR spectroscopic properties of these complexes and of their structural parameters, which were determined by single crystal X ...

Anomalous two-photon Compton scattering
X-ray free-electron lasers can generate radiation pulses with extreme peak intensities at short wavelengths. This enables the investigation of laser–matter interactions in a regime of high fields, yet at a non-relativistic ponderomotive potential, where ...

Insights into Molecular Beryllium–Silicon Bonds [PDF]
We present the synthesis of two silyl beryllium halides HypSiBeX∙(thf) (HypSi = Si(SiMe3)3, X = Cl 2a, I 4a) and the molecular structure of 2a as determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. Compounds 2a and 4a were characterized via multi-nuclear NMR spectroscopy (1H, 9Be, 13C, 29Si), and the bonding situation was further investigated using quantum

The influence of orbital rotation on the energy of closed-shell wavefunctions [PDF]
The orbital dependence of closed-shell wavefunction energies is investigated by performing doubly-occupied configuration interaction (DOCI) calculations, representing the most general class of these wavefunctions.
