Existence and Convergence Theorems of Best Proximity Points [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2013
The aim of this paper is to prove some best proximity point theorems for new classes of cyclic mappings, called pointwise cyclic orbital contractions and asymptotic pointwise cyclic orbital contractions. We also prove a convergence theorem of best proximity point for relatively nonexpansive mappings in uniformly convex Banach spaces.

Best Proximity Point for Generalized and S-Geraphty Contractions

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2021
This paper introduces a new class of mappings called S-Geraphty-contractions and provides sufficient conditions for the existence and uniqueness of a best proximity point for such mappings. It also presents the best proximity point result for generalized

Best Proximity Points for Alternative Maps [PDF]

open access: yesSymmetry, 2019
Let ( X , d ) be a metric space and Ω i , i = 1 , 2 , … , m , be a nonempty subset of ( X , d ) . An operator T : ∪ 1 ≤ i ≤ m Ω i → ∪ 1 ≤ i ≤ m Ω i is called an alternative map if T ( Ω j ) ⊆ ∪ i ≠ j Ω i , j = 1 , 2 , … , m . In addition, if for any x, y ∈ ∪ 1 ≤ i ≤ m Ω i , there exists a constant α ∈ [ 0 , 1 ) such that d ( T x , T y ) ≤ α d ( x , y )

Existence of Best Proximity Point in O-CompleteMetric Spaces

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
In this work, we prove the existence of the best proximity point results for ⊥-contraction (orthogonal-contraction) mappings on an O-complete metric space (orthogonal-complete metric space). Subsequently, these existence results are employed to establish

Optimal Solution for the System of Differential Inclusion in Hilbert Space [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics Interdisciplinary Research, 2021
In this paper, we study the existence of the following optimal solution for the system of differential inclusiony′ ∈ Φ(t,y(t))  a.e.  t ∈ I = [t0,b]  and  y(t0) = u2,y′ ∈ Ψ(t,y(t))  a.e.

On best proximity points of interpolative proximal contractions

open access: yesQuaestiones Mathematicae, 2020
In this paper, we introduce some kinds of interpolative proximal contractions named as Reich-Rus-Ćirić and Kannan types. Then taking into account the aforementioned mappings, we give a few best proximity point results. As special cases we obtain some fixed point results for interpolative contractions. To support the theory, some examples are provided.

SOME COMMENTS ON BEST PROXIMITY POINTS FOR ORDERED PROXIMAL CONTRACTIONS

open access: yesJournal of Applied Analysis & Computation, 2022
Summary: In this article, we focus on the existence of an optimal approximate solution, designated as a best proximity point for non-self mappings which are ordered proximal contractions in the setting of partially ordered metric spaces and prove that these results are particular cases of existing fixed point theorems in the literature.

Best Proximity Point Theorem in Quasi-Pseudometric Spaces

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2016
In quasi-pseudometric spaces (not necessarily sequentially complete), we continue the research on the quasi-generalized pseudodistances. We introduce the concepts of semiquasiclosed map and contraction of Nadler type with respect to generalized ...

Best Proximity Point for ΓτF-Fuzzy Proximal Contraction

open access: yesAxioms, 2023
In this writing, first, we disclose the first and second category of a ΓτF-fuzzy proximal contraction for a mapping O:U→V which is nonself and also declare a fuzzy q-property to confirm the existence of the best proximity point for nonself function O ...

Best Proximity Point Results in G-Metric Spaces

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2014
G-metric spaces proved to be a rich source for fixed point theory; however, the best proximity point problem has not been considered in such spaces. The aim of this paper is to introduce certain new classes of proximal contraction mappings and establish ...
