In this paper, using the concept of w-distance on a metric space, we prove some new best proximity point results for the mappings of Meir-Keeler type. As an application, we derive some recent best proximity point results of the aforementioned type.

ABSTRACT Objectives SLC4A4 encodes electrogenic sodium bicarbonate cotransporter NBCe1, prominently expressed in kidney and brain. Recessive loss‐of‐function variants in SLC4A4 cause proximal renal tubular acidosis, no brain edema. In the brain, NBCe1 is expressed by astrocytes, where it regulates pH and mediates astrocyte volume changes.

In this paper, we utilize the concept of (P)-property, weak (P)-property and the comparison function to introduce and prove an existence and uniqueness theorem of a best proximity point. Also, we introduce the notion of a best proximity coupled point of a mapping F: X x X ? X.

Summary: Abkar and Gbeleh proved the existence of best proximity points for multivalued nonself mappings on a complete metric space. We generalize/extend their result by introducing the notion of weak \(P_G\)-property. We also construct some examples in the support of our results.
