An Extension of Generalized Linear Models to Finite Mixture Outcome Distributions
Finite mixture distributions arise in sampling a heterogeneous population. Data drawn from such a population will exhibit extra variability relative to any single subpopulation.

Identifying Tipping Points during Healthy Brain Aging through Single‐Nucleus Transcriptomic Analysis
This study applies single‐nucleus transcriptomics and systems dynamics to uncover nonlinear aging patterns in healthy human brains. By introducing dynamic network biomarker theory, the authors identify a critical tipping point at ages 56–60 during aging, and highlight glial instability as a key mediator.

The 2500‐year‐old Mulberry‐dyke and Fish‐pond agricultural heritage system reveals how interconnected habitats foster microbial diversity. Multi‐habitat landscapes enhance microbial diversity through cross‐habitat dispersal and adaptive trait convergence. Globally, regions with diverse habitats support a greater diversity of soil microbiomes.

Sum of Bernoulli Mixtures: Beyond Conditional Independence
We consider the distribution of the sum of Bernoulli mixtures under a general dependence structure. The level of dependence is measured in terms of a limiting conditional correlation between two of the Bernoulli random variables.

Non-uniform bound on the point metric of the beta binomial and binomial distributions [PDF]
This paper uses Stein’s method and the specic w-function to determine a non-uniform bound on the point metric of the beta binomial distribution with parameters n, and and a binomial distribution with parameters n and + . Numerical examples are provided to illustrate the result obtained.

ACSS2/AATF Drives Soluble FasL‐Mediated CD8+ T Cell Apoptosis in Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors
This study unveils that ACSS2‐driven acetate metabolism fuels histone pan‐acetylation in pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (PNETs), remodeling the epigenetic landscape. The ACSS2/AATF axis transcriptionally activates soluble FasL (sFasL), which engages Fas receptors on infiltrating CD8+ T cells to trigger caspase‐8/3‐mediated apoptosis.

Poisson Latent Feature Calculus for Generalized Indian Buffet Processes [PDF]
The purpose of this work is to describe a unified, and indeed simple, mechanism for non-parametric Bayesian analysis, construction and generative sampling of a large class of latent feature models which one can describe as generalized notions of Indian ...

Bayesian approach to LR assessment in case of rare type match: careful derivation and limits
The likelihood ratio (LR) is largely used to evaluate the relative weight of forensic data regarding two hypotheses and for its assessment Bayesian methods are widespread in the forensic field.

An integrative analysis combining in vitro genome‐wide immune screens, in vivo ICB screens, and clinical data mining identifies METTL5 as a key tumor‐intrinsic immune factor. Mechanistic studies further reveal the importance of the METTL5‐ATF4‐SLC7A11/SLC3A2‐ferroptosis axis in modulating antitumor immune responses. These findings highlight METTL5 as a

An Insurance Type Model for the Health Cost of Cold Housing
This paper introduces a substantive problem, namely the link between fuel poverty and excess winter morbidity amongst older people, and shows how the GAMLSS suite of programs (www.gamlss.com) can be used to provide a very flexible method of modelling ...
