Substitution of Ti by Nb in Maraging Steel: Effects on Strengthening Mechanisms and Crystallographic Behavior

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that replacing Ti with Nb in maraging steel forms nanoscale Nb–Mo particles along boundaries, strengthening the alloy without relying on Ti phases. Heat‐treatment tuning promotes uniform crystal orientation and balanced grain boundaries, enabling strong yet ductile behavior.

Matrix‐Isolation Electron Paramagnetic Resonance Studies of Radical Ions and Neutral Radicals Generated by Radiolysis of Organic Molecules at Cryogenic Temperatures

open access: yesThe Chemical Record, EarlyView.
By selecting an appropriate matrix and irradiating the matrix containing a trace amount of solute at low temperatures, ionic or neutral radicals derived from the solute can be generated and trapped in the matrix. EPR spectroscopy of these samples yields highly detailed information on the radicals, inaccessible by other experimental techniques. Electron

Impact of socioeconomic status and remoteness of residence on pregnancy outcome in major congenital heart disease: mediation analysis

open access: yesUltrasound in Obstetrics &Gynecology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Increased remoteness of residence (RoR) and lower socioeconomic status (SES) negatively impact the rate and gestational age (GA) at the diagnosis of major congenital heart disease (mCHD). We examined the direct and indirect relationships of RoR from a tertiary fetal cardiology center and Chan SES index with the rate of termination of

Between‐country differences in the psychosocial profiles of British cattle farmers

open access: yesVeterinary Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Psychosocial factors are important for the uptake of livestock disease control measures by farmers and can differ by region, which would have implications for disease control nationally. Methods We investigated altruism, trust, psychological proximity and the COM‐B behaviour change framework in a survey of 475 British cattle farmers
