beta-1,3-glucan modifying enzymes in Aspergillus fumigatus

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2013
In Aspergillus fumigatus like in other filamentous ascomycetes, beta-1,3-glucan constitutes a prominent cell wall component being responsible for rigidity of the cell wall structure. In filamentous fungi, softening of the cell wall is absolutely required

Ginseng polysaccharides prevent mastitis through Lactobacillus murinus‐derived deoxycholic acid and TGR5 signaling

open access: yesiMetaOmics, EarlyView.
Prebiotic Ginseng polysaccharides (GP) alleviate mastitis through selective enrichment of gut L. murinus, which elevates its anti‐inflammatory metabolite deoxycholic acid (DCA). Circulating DCA engages mammary epithelial TGR5 receptors, triggering the cAMP–PKA pathway to suppress NF‐κB/NLRP3‐mediated inflammation.

Production of Beta-1,3 Glucan from Agrobacterium and Its Wound Healing Activity on White Rat

open access: yesMakara Seri Sains, 2006
The objective of this study was to determine the activity of beta-1,3 glucan product extracted from local Agrobacterium sp Bro 1.2.1, both wild-type and mutant-type, on opened-wound healing process. Beta-1,3 glucan product was extracted by precipitation,

Multi‐omics biomarkers for intestinal infection and inflammation in inflammatory bowel disease: Current evidence, translational challenges, and diagnostic opportunities

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
Prospective multi‐site cohorts, multi‐omics profiling, and computational analysis may help identify biomarker patterns across clinical settings in IBD and superimposed infections. With further mechanistic and clinical validation, these signals could support the development of practical multi‐analyte tools for more precise diagnosis and management ...

Immunological and periodontal benefits of prebiotic polydextrose in rats with induced periodontitis

open access: yesJournal of Periodontology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Prebiotic therapy is a promising approach for managing periodontitis due to its potential benefits in modulating the microbiome and the immune response. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of the prebiotic (PREB) polydextrose (PDX) on the development of experimental periodontitis (EP) in rats.

Effects of genotype and environment on the physiochemical properties of Canadian oat varieties

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, Volume 105, Issue 5, Page 3111-3121, 30 March 2025.
Abstract BACKGROUND The relationship between oat grain composition and physical attributes as influenced by oat genotype and Canadian growing environments was investigated. Thirty Canadian oat (Avena sativa L.) genotypes, grown in three Canadian growing locations (Brandon, Manitoba; Portage la Prairie, Manitoba; and Lacombe, Alberta) over 2 consecutive

Survival of Lactobacillus acidophilus in low fat stirred yoghurt containing barley Beta-Glucan [PDF]

open access: yesBihdāsht-i Mavādd-i Ghaz̠āyī, 2016
Effectiveness of probiotic food depends on the survival of probiotic in foods. Therefore, it is important to monitor the survival of probiotic organisms during the production and storage of foods.
