Heterogeneous hypergeometric functions with two matrix arguments and the exact distribution of the largest eigenvalue of a singular beta-Wishart matrix

open access: yesJournal of Multivariate Analysis, 2021
This paper discusses certain properties of heterogeneous hypergeometric functions with two matrix arguments. These functions are newly defined but have already appeared in statistical literature and are useful when dealing with the derivation of certain distributions for the eigenvalues of singular beta-Wishart matrices.

Functionally distinct roles for glycosylation of alpha and beta integrin chains in cell-matrix interactions. [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 1993
Laminin interaction with gp120/140, a B16-F10 laminin-binding protein immunologically related to alpha 6 beta 1 integrin, has been shown to be dependent on oligosaccharides from both ligand and receptor. Lectin analysis of gp120/140 led to the conclusion that this integrin is a sialoglycoprotein bearing mainly complex antennary structures.

Pharmacologic inhibition of the TGF-beta type I receptor kinase has anabolic and anti-catabolic effects on bone.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2009
During development, growth factors and hormones cooperate to establish the unique sizes, shapes and material properties of individual bones. Among these, TGF-beta has been shown to developmentally regulate bone mass and bone matrix properties.

Choice of 16S ribosomal RNA primers affects the microbiome analysis in chicken ceca

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
We evaluated the effect of applying different sets of 16S rRNA primers on bacterial composition, diversity, and predicted function in chicken ceca. Cecal contents from Ross 708 birds at 1, 3, and 5 weeks of age were collected for DNA isolation.

Higher order constraints for the ( $$\beta $$ β -deformed) Hermitian matrix models

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
We construct the ( $$\beta $$ β -deformed) higher order total derivative operators and analyze their remarkable properties. In terms of these operators, we derive the higher order constraints for the ( $$\beta $$ β -deformed) Hermitian matrix models.

Chiral expansion and Macdonald deformation of two-dimensional Yang-Mills theory

open access: yes, 2016
We derive the analog of the large $N$ Gross-Taylor holomorphic string expansion for the refinement of $q$-deformed $U(N)$ Yang-Mills theory on a compact oriented Riemann surface.

Pinning down the strength function for ordinary muon capture on 100Mo

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2019
Ordinary muon capture (OMC) on 100Mo is studied both experimentally and theoretically in order to access the weak responses in wide energy and momentum regions. The OMC populates states in 100Nb up to some 50 MeV in excitation energy.

A New Supersymmetric Index

open access: yes, 1992
We show that ${\rm Tr}(-1)^F F e^{-\beta H}$ is an index for $N$=2 supersymmetric theories in two dimensions, in the sense that it is independent of almost all deformations of the theory.

The nullity of the net Laplacian matrix of a signed graph

open access: yesThe American Journal of Combinatorics
The net Laplacian matrix of a signed graph \(\Gamma = (G, \sigma)\), where \(G = (V(G),E(G))\) is an unsigned graph (referred to as the underlying graph) and \(\sigma: E(G) \rightarrow \{-1, +1\}\) is the sign function, is defined as \(L^{\pm}(\Gamma) =

Limits for circular Jacobi beta-ensembles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Bourgade, Nikeghbali and Rouault recently proposed a matrix model for the circular Jacobi $\beta$-ensemble, which is a generalization of the Dyson circular $\beta$-ensemble but equipped with an additional parameter $b$, and further studied its limiting ...
