Tissue localization of betacyanins in cactus stems
Betalains are soluble pigments found only in the suborder Chenopodiniae, while in all other Angiospermaethey are replaced by anthocyanins. The convergent evolution of the presence of anthocyanins and betalains invegetative tissues supports the hypothesis of a similar function, based on the absorption properties of these pigments. The screening effect of

Mikroenkapsulasi Ekstrak Betasianin Kulit Buah Naga Merah: Kajian Rasio dan Konsentrasi Penyalut
Red dragon fruit peel has a fairly high content of betacyanin pigment, so it has the potential as a natural food color. However, its stability is influenced by various factors. To maintain its stability, microencapsulation technology can be used with the

The decolorization of betacyanin by polyamines
Phytochemistry, 1985Abstract The pigment betacyanin, the efflux of which has been used as a measure of membrane integrity in red beet discs, has now been shown to react with di- and polyamines with consequent decolorization.

The betacyanins and their distribution
Phytochemistry, 1963Abstract Thirty-eight species, including thirteen previously uninvestigated genera, in ten families usually grouped in the Centrospermae were surveyed by electrophoresis and chromatography for the presence of betacyanin and anthocyanin pigments. Betacyanins were observed in all thirty-eight species but no anthocyanins were detected.
