Fendioxypyracil, a new and systemic PPO‐inhibiting herbicide for X‐spectrum weed control

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
This graphical abstract presents the discovery and synthesis of PPO herbicide structures with a central pyridine core, showing molecular conformations, dose–response inhibition curves for PPO1 and PPO2, and comparative weed and grass control efficacy of fendioxypyracil versus other herbicides in greenhouse and field trials.

Optimum aerodynamic design for wind-lens turbine

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Science and Technology, 2016
An optimum aerodynamic design method has been developed for the wind-lens turbine. The wind-lens turbine has a brimmed diffuser around a turbine rotor, which is referred to as wind-lens.

A numerical proof of the Betz–Joukowsky limit

open access: yesRenewable Energy
According to the Betz–Joukowsky limit, the maximum power coefficient of a wind turbine is 16/27. This limit is obtained assuming a priori that the disk is radially uniformly-loaded. In other words, the proof of the limit does not evaluate the optimum type of the load distribution, but it directly speculates that radially uniform load is the optimal one.

The Betz–Joukowsky limit: on the contribution to rotor aerodynamics by the British, German and Russian scientific schools

open access: yesWind Energy, 2011
ABSTRACTThe derivation of the efficiency of an ideal wind turbine has been attributed to the three famous scientists of the three aerodynamic research schools in Europe during the first decades of the previous century: Lanchester, Betz and Joukowsky. However, detailed reading of their classical papers has shown that Lanchester did not accept Froude's ...

Integrating Business Process Management With the Sustainable Development Goals: A Multidimensional Framework for Systemic Sustainability

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study proposes a multidimensional framework to integrate Business Process Management (BPM) with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), addressing gaps in research and practice. Through a bibliometric science mapping using keyword co‐occurrence network analysis in VOSviewer (Scopus 2015–2024), we identify five thematic clusters ...

Two-point density correlations of quasicondensates in free expansion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We measure the two-point density correlation function of freely expanding quasicondensates in the weakly interacting quasi-one-dimensional (1D) regime.

Analytical studies of new airfoils for wind turbines [PDF]

open access: yes, 1981
Computer studies were conducted to analyze the potential gains associated with utilizing new airfoils for large wind turbine rotor blades. Attempts to include 3-dimensional stalling effects were inconclusive.

Multilayer Graph-Based Trajectory Planning for Race Vehicles in Dynamic Scenarios

open access: yes, 2020
Trajectory planning at high velocities and at the handling limits is a challenging task. In order to cope with the requirements of a race scenario, we propose a far-sighted two step, multi-layered graph-based trajectory planner, capable to run with ...

Urban wind energy conversion: the potential of ducted turbines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The prospects for urban wind power are discussed. A roof-mounted ducted wind turbine, which uses pressure differentials created by wind flow around a building, is proposed as an alternative to more conventional approaches.
