Experiment Study of BFRP Bars’ Mechanical Properties
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2012The testing rule of mechanical properties of material can be established and the mechanical performance can be found by studying the basic mechanical properties of BFRP bars. Using the opressive sleeve anchor developed by the researchers, tensile tests of BFRP bars are carried out according to the national standards of “GFRP bar tensile test methods ...

Prospect Analysis of the Application of BFRP Bar to Bridges
Key Engineering Materials, 2013Basalt Fiber Reinforced Polymer (BFRP) bar was deemed as a substitute material of steel bar owing to its strong tensile properties and corrosion resistance which is benefit to enhance the durability of reinforced concrete bridges. Based on the current research findings, the prospects of BFRP bar for the application to bridges were analyzed.

Composite Structures, 2021
Abstract This paper presents an investigation of a new type of seawater sea-sand concrete (SWSSC) beam which consists of BFRP bars/grids and BFRP-wrapped steel tubes (BWST). The transversally placed basalt fiber-reinforced polymer (BFRP) grid units act as shear stirrups, while the longitudinal BWST near the bottom area is used to improve the tension ...

Strength Performance of Concrete Beams Reinforced with BFRP Bars
2018This paper presents an experimental and numerical investigation of the strength performance of concrete beams reinforced with Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (FRP) bars. The numerical model prepared in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software was validated against the experimental data and found to be in good convergence.

Fatigue performance of prestressed concrete beams using BFRP bars
Construction and Building Materials, 2017Abstract Basalt fibers have recently been introduced as a promising addition to the existing fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) family. A limited amount of information is available on basalt FRP (BFRP) bars and their structural concrete applications. This paper presents the flexural behaviour of sixteen prestressed concrete beams using BFRP bars under ...

Experimental Study on Bond Performance between Concrete and BFRP Bars
Construction Technologies and ArchitectureThe problem of corrosion in reinforced concrete infrastructure can be addressed by using fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) bars, since they are a feasible alternative due to their non-corrosive nature. Basalt fibre-reinforced polymer (BFRP) bars have recently gained attention as a possible substitute for both of these materials because they are less ...
