Neutralizing antibodies to bovine herpesviruses types 1 (BHV-1) and 5 (BHV-5) induced by an experimental, oil-adjuvanted, BHV-1 vaccine

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Veterinary Research and Animal Science, 2001

Knee‐ABC 2 reduces acute, severe and overuse knee injuries

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Handball is associated with a high risk of knee injury. This study investigated whether an injury prevention program is effective in reducing acute, severe and overuse knee injuries in handball athletes. Methods Sixty‐nine men's and women's handball teams (U‐15, U‐17, U‐19 and senior athletes) were cluster‐randomised into an ...

Biomarker and cognitive associates of resistance to neocortical tau pathology in a pooled cohort

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 21, Issue S3, December 2025.
Abstract Background Prior evidence suggests that neocortical tau in those with higher β‐amyloid (Aβ) may be the main driver of Alzheimer's disease (AD)‐related neurodegeneration leading to insidious cognitive decline and ultimately a diagnosis of AD dementia.

DNA recognition by the herpes simplex virus transactivator VP16: a novel DNA-Binding structure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Upon infection, the herpes simplex virus (HSV) transcriptional activator VP16 directs the formation of a multiprotein-DNA complex-the VP16-induced complex-with two cellular proteins, the host cell factor HCF-1 and the POU domain transcription factor Oct ...

Arsonic Acid Functional Polymers Enable Stabilization of Iron Oxide Nanoparticles in Aqueous Solution

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
Arsonic acid containing diblock copolymers are developed to incorporate arsonic acid moieties for surface anchoring to IONPs, along with water soluble PEG blocks to impart colloidal stability in aqueous environments. The resulting polymer‐coated IONPs are evaluated for stability in physiological media and cytocompatibility.

Reducing Trade‐Offs of Net Zero Carbon Transitions Through Entrepreneurship and Coordinated Innovation: A Spatially Disaggregated Analysis Across Countries and World Regions

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Transition processes towards a sustainable future benefit from historic perspectives, since feasible changes of socio‐technological conditions and processes depend on a holistic assessment of how actors are embedded in existing institutions, routines, and structures. Building on the Income–Population–Affluence–Technology equation and utilizing

2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin and the viral infection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Exposure to 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD), a widespread highly toxic environmental contaminant, suppresses immune response and leads to an increased susceptibility to infectious agents.

Virtual or In‐Person: Does It Matter? Comparing Pain, Function, Quality of Life, Self‐Efficacy, and Physical Function Outcomes of Virtual, Hybrid, and In‐Person Education and Exercise Program Participants

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Volume 78, Issue 3, Page 388-397, March 2026.
Objective This study aimed to determine if program format (in‐person, virtual, or hybrid) results in differences in 3‐month outcomes of pain, function, quality of life, self‐efficacy, and chair stands in a hip/knee osteoarthritis‐management program. Methods A secondary analysis of the Good Life with osteoArthritis in Denmark (GLA:D) Canada database was

Dexamethasone-induced reactivation of bovine herpesvirus type 5 latent infection in experimentally infected rabbits results in a broader distribution of latent viral DNA in the brain

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research, 2006
Bovine herpesvirus type 5 (BHV-5) is a major agent of meningoencephalitis in cattle and establishes latent infections mainly in sensory nerve ganglia. The distribution of latent BHV-5 DNA in the brain of rabbits prior to and after virus reactivation was ...
