Synthesis of polycrystalline nanotubular Bi2Te3
Materials Chemistry and Physics, 2009Polycrystalline nanotubular Bi2Te3 could be prepared via a high-temperature solution process using nanoscale tellurium, decomposed from trioctylphosphine oxide (TOPO) extracted tellurium species (Te-TOPO), as sacrificial template. The formation of such tubular structure is believed to be the result of outward diffusion of Te during the alloying process.

Heterodiffusion of selenium in Bi2Te3
Physics Letters A, 1988Abstract We present results for the anisotropic diffusion coefficient of selenium, isoelectronic impurity, in Bi2Te3 along the solidus. The experimental conditions permitted us to obtain a definite stoichiometric deviation, and diffusion profiles were obtained by SIMS.

The quasibinary system In2Te3-Bi2Te3
Journal of the Less Common Metals, 1968Abstract The In 2 Te 3 -Bi 2 Te 3 isopleth has been investigated by using a combination of thermal analysis, X-ray and micrographic techniques. A eutectic, melting at 571 °C, occurs at 66 ± 0.5% Bi 2 Te 3 . The solid-solubility of Bi 2 Te 3 in In 2 Te 3 is immeasurably small; Bi 2 Te 3 dissolves 20% In 2 Te 3 at the eutectic temperature and 5 ...

Polyol Synthesis of Nano-Bi2Te3
Journal of Electronic Materials, 2014In this work, a simple and easily scalable wet-chemical synthesis of nanoscale Bi2Te3 has been developed. Bi2Te3 nanoparticles were produced via a polyol method by reaction of Na2Te in solution with a selection of bismuth(III) salts in boiling ethylene glycol. Depending on the reaction temperature and time, particles with size ranging between 20 nm and

Tetradymites: Bi2Te3-Related Materials
2016As early as 1954, Goldsmid and Douglas [1] identied the materials that are now the most commonly used in the thermoelectric industry for either Peltier cooling or thermoelectric power generation. These materials belong to the class of tetradymite-type semiconductorsCONTENTS2.1 Introduction 39 2.2 Structure 42 2.3 Electronic Band Structures ...

Properties of Bi2Te3-Sb2Te3 Alloys
Journal of Applied Physics, 1962The phase diagram for the Bi2Te3–Sb2Te3 pseudo-binary system is of the solid-solution type, where the distribution coefficient k is equal to unity at 33.3 and 66.7 mole % Sb2Te3. The c lat tice parameter remains essentially constant across the diagram at 30.49 Å for both slowly crystallized and quenched alloys.
