Advanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

This review presents an entropy‐driven design strategy that overcomes these limitations, ushering in a new class of low‐melting‐point compositionally complex alloys (LMCCAs).

Advanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.Gallium microalloying redirects interfacial reactions in low‐temperature Bi–Sn solders from Cu–Sn toward Cu–Ga intermetallic formation. The resulting Cu–Ga layer suppresses intermetallic growth during thermal aging, alters fracture pathways, and improves interfacial stability.

Effects of Mg on Microstructure and Solidification of a Hypereutectic Zn–8 wt.%Al Alloy
Advanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.An appreciable set of results involving thermal data, microstructure, chemical composition, and microstructural growth laws is reported for ZnAlMg alloys. Such results demonstrate that ZnAlMg alloys have high potential for applications in automotive self‐lubricating components, batteries, and electrical systems.

Advanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.Near‐surface deuterium enrichment profiles for different microstructural types of TiAl after exposure at 700 °C in a heavy water‐containing environment. The deuterium levels are significantly higher than expected from natural occurrence, indicating that the heavy water dissociated during the exposure treatment and entered the specimens.
