On the nature of the bi-stability jump in the winds of early-type supergiants [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
We study the origin of the observed bi-stability jump in the terminal velocity of the winds of supergiants near spectral type B1. To this purpose, we have calculated a grid of wind models and mass-loss rates for these stars. The models show that the mass-

Shielding efficiency and E(J) characteristics measured on large melt cast Bi-2212 hollow cylinders in axial magnetic fields [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We show that tubes of melt cast Bi-2212 used as current leads for LTS magnets can also act as efficient magnetic shields. The magnetic screening properties under an axial DC magnetic field are characterized at several temperatures below the liquid ...

CAR T‐Cell Therapy in Neurology: A Scoping Review of Neuro‐Oncology, Autoimmune Diseases & Neurotoxicity

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T‐cell therapy has been investigated in neurological diseases, encompassing both central nervous system malignancies and autoimmune disorders, thereby extending its application beyond hematological cancers.

Power-Law Decay of Standing Waves on the Surface of Topological Insulators

open access: yes, 2011
We propose a general theory on the standing waves (quasiparticle interference pattern) caused by the scattering of surface states off step edges in topological insulators, in which the extremal points on the constant energy contour of surface band play ...

Wolbachia segregation rate in Drosophila simulans naturally bi-infected cytoplasmic lineages [PDF]

open access: yesHeredity, 2000
Wolbachia are maternally transmitted endocellular bacteria infecting several arthropod species. In order to study Wolbachia segregation rate, Drosophila simulans females from an Indo-Pacific population (Seychelles) bi-infected by the two Wolbachia variants wHa and wNo were backcrossed to uninfected males in two conditions. In the first case, Seychelles

Cumulative Social Disadvantage and Disease Activity in Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis: A Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance Registry Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Social determinants of health (SDOH) contribute to juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) disparities, but most studies have assessed SDOH independently rather than cumulatively across individual, family, and neighborhood levels. Using a socioecological framework, we investigated the relationship among cumulative social disadvantage ...

PENGARUH PERTUMBUHAN EKONOMI, INFLASI, JUMLAH UANG BEREDAR (M2) DAN BI RATE TERHADAP TABUNGAN MUDHARABAH PADA PERBANKAN SYARIAH DI INDONESIA PERIODE 2005 - 2014

open access: yesI-Economics: A Research Journal on Islamic Economics, 2016
This research show that independent variable (PE, Inflation, JUB, and BI Rate ) simultaneously has significantly effect to dependent variable (Tabungan Mudharabah. This can be proved by significant value 0.000. Based on the test partially economic growth

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.
