Biaxial Fatigue of Sintered Hydroxylapatite

open access: yesKey Engineering Materials, 1997
The mechanical properties of a commercial and a laboratory prepared hydroxylapatite (HAP) were compared. The biaxial flexure strength, fracture toughness and fatigue crack growth in dry and wet (saline) environments were measured Strength and fracture toughness values of around 50Mpa and 1MPa √m were measured in biaxial flexure.

Biaxial Fatigue Testing Of Vulcanizates

open access: yesRubber Chemistry and Technology, 1961
Abstract Extensive fatigue tests of vulcanizates of natural rubber and SBR were carried out using a cycle of alternate stretching in two perpendicular directions. It is shown that the data can be best handled statistically by assuming a lognormal distribution or by the use of extreme probability techniques.

Fatigue crack propagation under biaxial fatigue loading with single overloads

International Journal of Fatigue, 2018
Abstract The crack propagation behavior and the governing crack growth micromechanisms in aluminum alloy under in-plane biaxial fatigue loading with single overloads, of different magnitudes and occurring at different fatigue crack lengths, is investigated.

The Effect of Biaxial Stresses on Fatigue and Fracture

open access: yesJournal of Engineering for Industry, 1970
The results are presented of an analytical and experimental program which was conducted to determine if a biaxial stress field produces a significant effect on the fatigue and fracture behavior of thin plates. The materials tested were 6061-T4 and 6061-T6 aluminum sheets and plexiglas sheets.

Experimental investigations on mechanical performance of rocks under fatigue loads and biaxial confinements

open access: yesJournal of Central South University, 2020
In this research, a series of biaxial compression and biaxial fatigue tests were conducted to investigate the mechanical behaviors of marble and sandstone under biaxial confinements.

Biaxial fatigue behavior of a polychloroprene rubber

International Journal of Fatigue, 2011
Understanding phenomenon induced by complex fatigue loadings is an important issue for the conception of industrial components. Rubber materials, thanks to their abilities to withstand high deformations, are more and more used in industry. In an ongoing study, an experimental investigation is being carried out to study the effect of multiaxial loadings
