A Biaxial Fatigue Specimen for Uniaxial Loading [PDF]

open access: yesStrain, 2011
Abstract:  The aim of this paper is to present a novel un‐notched fatigue test specimen in which a biaxial stress state is achieved using a uniaxial loading condition. This allows the problem of multi‐axial fatigue to be studied using relatively common one‐axis servo‐hydraulic testing machines.

Behaviour of composite solid propellant under biaxial tensile loading [PDF]

open access: yesPolymer Testing, 2023
Biaxial tensile tests were carried out on cruciform specimens of composite solid propellants. Digital Image Correlation (DIC) was used to measure the strain in the gage section. Experiments were conducted at displacement rates of 1, 50 and 1000 mm/min (Y

Experimental Analysis and Failure Criterion of Plain Concrete Subjected to Biaxial Loading under Fixed Lateral Loading [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, 2019
By using a rock true triaxial apparatus hydraulic servo machine, biaxial loading experiments including biaxial compression-compression and biaxial compression-tension with fixed lateral loading on plain concretes were conducted and the stress-strain ...

Biaxial Cyclic Loading of Woven Fabrics [PDF]

open access: yesTextile & Leather Review, 2021
For the purpose of this paper, investigations were carried out on specifically designed fabrics with different structural parameters. The biaxial cyclic loading of fabrics and its consequences were investigated. The weave structures with the smallest weave units (plain weave, basket weave 2/2, rib weave 1/1 (2+2) and rib weave 2/2 (1+1) with the same ...

The Effect of Biaxial Loading on the Limit Load of Cracked Plates [PDF]

open access: yesVolume 6A: Materials and Fabrication, 2015
To address the issue of the lack of guidance in fitness-for-service codes [1], [2], for biaxial and triaxial effects on fracture, this paper expands on results presented at PVP 2014 [3] for a centre cracked plate by including the effect of plate length and then presents results for single edge and double edge cracked plates.

Multiaxial fatigue property of type 316 stainless steel using hollow cylinder specimen under combined pull loading and inner pressure [PDF]

open access: yesFracture and Structural Integrity, 2017
Stress controlled multiaxial fatigue test was carried out using a hollow cylinder specimen of type 316 stainless steel. A newly developed fatigue testing machine which can apply push-pull loading and reversed torsion loading and inner pressure to the ...

Failure analysis based on microvoid growth for sheet metal during uniaxial and biaxial tensile tests [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The aim of the presented investigations is to perform an analysis of fracture and instability during simple and complex load testing by addressing the influence of ductile damage evolution in necking processes.

Local behavior of an AISI 304 stainless steel submitted to in situ biaxial loading in SEM [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The microstructural response of a coarse grained AISI 304 stainless steel submitted to biaxial tensile loading was investigated using SEM and X-ray diffraction.

Biaxial fatigue loading of notched composites [PDF]

open access: yesComposites, 1978
Thin-walled, 2.54-cm diameter tubular specimens of graphite/epoxy (Fiberite T300/1034) were fatigue cycled in combinations of axial, torsion al, and internal pressure loading. Two different four-ply layup configura tions were tested: [0/90] s and [±45] s
