A Biaxial Consolidation Test for Anisotropic Soils

1986
A biaxial flow consolidation test was developed to determine the axial and radical permeabilities, ka and kr, respectively, of a transversely isotropic specimen. The test enables the additional information needed to determine the ratio of permeabilities, ka/kr, to be obtained by independently measuring the flow from the specimen ends and circumference ...

Use of the hydraulic bulge test in biaxial tensile testing

International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, 1979
Abstract The effect of the geometry of the bulge and the measuring procedure on the determination of biaxial stress-strain curves is examined. The shape of the top of the bulge is shown to be nearly spherical irrespective of the anisotropy of the sheet, while the meridional strains may differ from the balanced biaxial strain state.

Biaxial tests on Sandvik Nanoflex

2006
Sandvik Nanoflex (ASTM-A 564) is a metastable steel that undergoes strain induced martensitic transformation during a mechanical deformation process. The aim of the experiments is to observe the transformation by recording the amount of martensite via a magnetic sensor.
