Biaxial testing of composite tubes
Experimental Mechanics, 1985The development of a tubular test specimen for the characterization of advanced composite-material lamina and laminate mechanical properties is presented. The specimen design and supporting analyses are given for a practical tubular specimen that minimizes end effects.

Biaxial tensile tests of the porcine ascending aorta
Journal of Biomechanics, 2016One of the aims of this work is to develop an original custom built biaxial set-up to assess mechanical behavior of soft tissues. Stretch controlled biaxial tensile tests are performed and stereoscopic digital image correlation (SDIC) is implemented to measure the 3D components of the generated displacements.

Appraisal of biaxial strength testing
Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids, 1980Abstract Three biaxial strength tests (ring-on-ring, piston-on-3 ball, and ball-on-ring) were evaluated using finite element analysis. Although in all three tests some uncertainties exist regarding the calculation of fracture stresses from the analytical equation, if fracture occurs within the loading ring, the ring-on-ring loading is thought to give

Development of a Biaxial Test Fixture
1980Abstract : The Aerospace Structures Information and Analysis Center has designed and fabricated a specimen load system for conducting biaxial material characterizations of composite materials. In particular, the system is useful for determining a major portion of the biaxial failure envelopes for composite materials.

A Biaxial Apparatus for Testing Soils
Geotechnical Testing Journal, 1990Abstract A biaxial compression apparatus for investigating shear-band formation and growth in dry and water-saturated sand and clay specimens is described. This apparatus is a modification of the device designed by Vardoulakis and Goldscheider [1] for testing planar shear banding in sands.

Biaxial Testing of Repaired Concrete
ACI Materials Journal, 1992In this work, a special biaxial testing set up is designed and used along with some simplified test techniques to study the behavior of repaired concrete. Patched and nonpatched specimens are investigated under biaxial tension-compression states of stress. Different patch configurations, transition and rectangular, along with different patch depths are

Biaxial Fatigue Testing Of Vulcanizates
Rubber Chemistry and Technology, 1961Abstract Extensive fatigue tests of vulcanizates of natural rubber and SBR were carried out using a cycle of alternate stretching in two perpendicular directions. It is shown that the data can be best handled statistically by assuming a lognormal distribution or by the use of extreme probability techniques.

Simulation of the scenario of the biaxial wheel fatigue test
Advances in Engineering Software, 2017Abstract This paper presents a new approach to the virtualization of the scenario of the biaxial wheel fatigue test. This test is the state-of-art and the standard requirement for the validation of vehicle wheels. During this test, tire and wheel specimens run inside an inner drum while standardized vertical and horizontal loads are applied.
