On the (15,5,\(\lambda\) )-family of BIBDs
The authors enumerate completely the 1-rotational (15,5,4)-BIBDs and two subclasses of cyclic, and 1-rotational (15,5,6)-designs, respectively, as well as the resolvable (15,5,6)-BIBDs with an automorphism of order 5. The lower bounds for the number of nonisomorphic designs are substantially improved.

A subpopulation of arenavirus nucleoprotein localizes to mitochondria
Viruses need cells for their replication and, therefore, ways to hijack cellular functions. Mitochondria play fundamental roles within the cell in metabolism, immunity and regulation of homeostasis due to which some viruses aim to alter mitochondrial ...

Weak and Strong Nestings of BIBDs [PDF]
We study two types of nestings of balanced incomplete block designs (BIBDs). In both types of nesting, we wish to add a point (the nested point) to every block of a $(v,k,λ)$-BIBD in such a way that we end up with a partial $(w,k+1,λ+1)$-BIBD for some $w \geq v$. In the case where $w > v$, we are introducing $w-v$ new points.

U.S. Consumer Preferences for Cage‐Free Eggs and Hen Housing Policies
ABSTRACT Farm animal welfare (FAW) continues to be a divisive issue in the egg industry. In the United States, 10 states and most major retailers have implemented policies or voluntary pledges to transition to 100% cage‐free egg sales. We use best‐worst scaling and discrete choice experiments to evaluate U.S.

Colourings of Uniform Group Divisible Designs and Maximum Packings
ABSTRACT A weak c $c$‐colouring of a design is an assignment of colours to its points from a set of c $c$ available colours, such that there are no monochromatic blocks. A colouring of a design is block‐equitable, if for each block, the number of points coloured with any available pair of colours differ by at most one.

Novel 18F‑Labeled PET Tracers Specific to Aromatase: Design, Synthesis, and Biological Evaluation
The abnormal expression of aromatase is associated with the occurrence and development of a variety of neurological diseases and tumors. A series of 18F-labeled and 68Ga-labeled potential aromatase-binding candidate compounds were designed and ...

Circulant Matrix‐Based Box–Behnken Designs With Economic Run Sizes
ABSTRACT We introduce Circulant Matrix‐Based Box–Behnken Designs (CBBDs), a new class of three‐level, second‐order response surface designs constructed using circulant matrix structures. These designs satisfy an enhanced orthogonal minimally aliased (OMA∗${\rm OMA}^*$) property: they retain the classical OMA property—where main effects are orthogonal ...

ABSTRACT Mountain areas are hotspots of high natural and cultural value, but they face sustainability challenges. This research offers a quantitative cross‐case analysis of 21 case studies from mountain regions across 14 European countries, examining how local stakeholders perceive the contribution of mountain value chains to sustainable development ...
