ZNRD2 Mediated Nucleoprotein Aggregation Impairs Respiratory Syncytial Virus Replication
During RSV infection, nucleoprotein (N) forms RNA‐bound oligomers. The host protein ZNRD2 binds to these oligomers, promoting their transition into insoluble aggregates. These aggregates simultaneously sequester functional N to restrict viral production and disrupt chaperonin assembly quality control by interfering with ZNRD2's role as an adaptor ...

Novel Oliveros-like Clade C Mammarenaviruses from Rodents in Argentina, 1990–2020
Following an Argentine Hemorrhagic Fever (AHF) outbreak in the early 1990s, a rodent survey for Junín virus, a New World Clade B arenavirus, in endemic areas of Argentina was conducted.

As West Africa urbanises, the risk of Lassa fever may paradoxically decrease. We found the invasive house mouse, a dominant urban species, outcompetes and displaces the primary Lassa virus host. Considering these species interactions is critical for accurately predicting future zoonotic disease patterns.

Abstract Human transferrin receptor 1 (TfR) is essential for cellular iron homeostasis by internalizing the iron carrier proteins transferrin and ferritin. It is also an entry point for various pathogens, such as South American hemorrhagic fever caused by arenaviruses and the malaria parasite Plasmodium vivax, which utilize TfR to gain access to cells.

Ecologic Traits Analysis for Identifying Rodent Hosts for Arenavirus and Hepacivirus in the Americas
Over half of emerging human pathogens originate from wildlife, with rodents serving as key zoonotic hosts. This study used ecological trait‐based models to identify rodent traits associated with arenavirus and hepacivirus infections and detect potential host species across the Americas, our models achieve high predictive accuracy (AUC = 0.92–0.96).

The Biological Characteristics and Mouse Model of Lassa Virus From the First Imported Case in China
This is the first case of Lassa fever being introduced to China. A strain of the Lineage IV LASV was successfully isolated, and genomic and mutation analysis were conducted. Infection models were constructed using BALB/c, C57BL/6, and AG129 mice, which were successfully established.

An important step in the initiation of the innate immune response to virus infection is the recognition of non-self, viral RNA, including double-stranded RNA (dsRNA), by cytoplasmic pattern recognition receptors (PRRs).

ABSTRACT Favipiravir is a selective RNA polymerase inhibitor and a broad‐spectrum antiviral drug. Favipiravir reduces cell proliferation by inhibiting RNA transcription, particularly in rapidly proliferating cells such as spermatogonia. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects and mechanism of action of favipiravir (T‐705) on sperm quality ...
