Wavelength‐Multiplexed 2D Beam Steering via a Passive Diffractive Network

Advanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Illustration of a wavelength‐multiplexed diffractive beam steering system, which is composed of K cascaded diffractive layers, each containing phase‐modulating elements that are jointly optimized using deep learning–based optimization. When illuminated with a set of wavelengths {λ1,λ2,…,λNw}$\{ {{{\lambda }_1},{{\lambda }_2},\ldots ,{{\lambda }_{{{N}_w}

Wat dateer ons? Enkele opmerkings rondom die datering van Bybelse tekste

HTS Teologiese Studies/Theological Studies, 2002
What are we dating? Some remarks on the dating of biblical texts When a date is ascribed to a Biblical text, it is at times unclear precisely what is being dated. Does the date relate so some historical event which may have occurred, or alternatively, is

Collision‐Resilient Winged Drones Enabled by Tensegrity Structures

Advanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Based on structures of birds such as the woodpeck, this article presents the collision‐resilient aerial robot, SWIFT. SWIFT leverages tensegrity structures in the fuselage and wings which allow it to undergo large deformations in a crash, without sustaining damage. Experiments show that SWIFT can reduce impact forces by 70% over conventional structures.

Interpreting paired phenomena in the Hebrew Psalter and in African indigenous sacred texts

HTS Teologiese Studies/Theological Studies
The Hebrew Psalter is a repertoire of paired phenomena. From parallelisms to twin Psalms, biblical scholars have paid attention to these structural and poetical features as keys to unlocking and interpreting the meaning and theology of these psalms ...

Grounding Large Language Models for Robot Task Planning Using Closed‐Loop State Feedback

Advanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
BrainBody‐Large Language Model (LLM) introduces a hierarchical, feedback‐driven planning framework where two LLMs coordinate high‐level reasoning and low‐level control for robotic tasks. By grounding decisions in real‐time state feedback, it reduces hallucinations and improves task reliability.

ChicGrasp: Imitation‐Learning‐Based Customized Dual‐Jaw Gripper Control for Manipulation of Delicate, Irregular Bio‐Products

Advanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Automated poultry processing lines still rely on humans to lift slippery, easily bruised carcasses onto a shackle conveyor. Deformability, anatomical variance, and hygiene rules make conventional suction and scripted motions unreliable. We present ChicGrasp, an end‐to‐end hardware‐software co‐designed imitation learning framework, to offer a ...
