Intranasal Oxytocin for Alcohol Use Disorder: A Randomized, Double‐Blind, Placebo‐Controlled Multisite Trial Assessing Efficacy and Safety

Intranasal oxytocin was safe but did not significantly reduce drinking in a 12‐week randomized trial of alcohol use disorder. A late trend toward reduced drinking highlights the need for optimized dosing, longer treatment duration, and identification of responsive subgroups.
