Trajectories of Physical Function in Canadian Children with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis
Objectives We describe trajectories of physical function in children newly diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) and identify trajectories with persisting functional impairments and associated baseline characteristics. Methods We included patients enrolled in the Canadian Alliance of Pediatric Rheumatology Investigators (CAPRI) Registry ...

A bimetallic Mn–Ca nanoreactor (MCC) is developed as a non‐nucleotide STING nanoagonist for cancer metalloimmunotherapy. MCC induces Ca2+ overload and hydroxyl radical generation, resulting in mitochondrial damage and mtDNA release. The released mtDNA cooperates with Mn2+ to robustly activate cGAS–STING signaling.

Permittivity-asymmetric qBIC metasurfaces for refractive index sensing
Bound states in the continuum (BICs) provide exceptional light confinement due to their inherent decoupling from radiative channels. Small symmetry breaking transforms BIC into quasi-BIC (qBIC) that couples to free-space radiation enabling ultra-high ...

Factor analysis of correlation matrices when the number of random variables exceeds the sample size
Factor analysis which studies correlation matrices is an effective means of data reduction whose inference on the correlation matrix typically requires the number of random variables, p, to be relatively small and the sample size, n, to be approaching ...

Spectrally Tunable 2D Material‐Based Infrared Photodetectors for Intelligent Optoelectronics
Intelligent optoelectronics through spectral engineering of 2D material‐based infrared photodetectors. Abstract The evolution of intelligent optoelectronic systems is driven by artificial intelligence (AI). However, their practical realization hinges on the ability to dynamically capture and process optical signals across a broad infrared (IR) spectrum.

Using wavelet transform to analyse on-road mobile measurements of air pollutants: a case study to evaluate vehicle emission control policies during the 2014 APEC summit [PDF]
Vehicle emissions are a major source of air pollution in urban areas and thus greatly impact air quality in the megacity Beijing. Various vehicle emission control policies have been implemented at great cost, but there is a lack of appropriate methods to

Our study showed that human primary gingival fibroblast–derived microvesicles on nano‐engineered titanium implants promote early osseointegration and soft‐tissue attachment in vivo. ABSTRACT Titanium dental implants require both reliable osseointegration and peri‐implant soft tissue seal formation to ensure long‐term success. While osseointegration has

xx xx. ABSTRACT Osseointegration of orthopedic and dental implants is influenced by local and systemic factors, including their physicochemical surface properties and the patient's overall health status. Titanium and its alloys have been a longstanding standard for bone implants due to their innate biocompatibility and mechanical properties.
