Distal Biceps Brachii

Seminars in Musculoskeletal Radiology, 2013
There has been a renewed interest in the recent literature with regard to the normal anatomy of the distal biceps tendon. Cadaveric studies have demonstrated that a large percentage of individuals have two independent muscle bellies, the short and the long head, with two distinct separate tendons attaching at the radial tuberosity.

Arthroscopic biceps tenodesis

Arthroscopy: The Journal of Arthroscopic & Related Surgery, 2004
Arthroscopic biceps tenodesis is indicated for the treatment of severe biceps tendonopathy, partial- or full-thickness tendon tears, or biceps instability typically associated with rotator cuff tear, although there has been considerable debate on tenotomy versus tenodesis.

BiCEP

CHI '11 Extended Abstracts on Human Factors in Computing Systems, 2011
In this paper we describe a bimanual color exploration plugin (BiCEP) that allows a user to choose colors along three dimensions: hue, saturation, and brightness without mode switching between these dimensions. The plugin differs from other color selection tools by allowing users to simultaneously change all three dimensions utilizing a laptop trackpad

Subpectoral Biceps Tenodesis

Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy Review, 2008
The long head of the biceps brachii (LHB) tendon has long been recognized as a source of shoulder pain. Surgeons have debated the merits of tenotomy versus tenodesis, open versus arthroscopic approaches, and various fixation methods. This article reviews the clinical findings associated with LHB pathology, describes the operative technique of ...

Distal Biceps Rupture

Orthopedic Clinics of North America, 2008
Recognition and treatment of distal biceps tendon ruptures is increasing, likely because of greater clinical awareness and the greater activity and demands of the middle-aged population. This article focuses on the proper evaluation and treatment of distal biceps tendon ruptures with special attention focused on recently developed techniques.

Arthroscopic biceps tenodesis

Arthroscopy: The Journal of Arthroscopic & Related Surgery, 2002
Surgical treatment of symptomatic pathology of the long head of the biceps tendon generally consists of either biceps tenotomy or tenodesis. Biceps tenodesis is generally recommended for younger patients and has been well described using open techniques.

Arthroscopic biceps tenodesis

Orthopedic Clinics of North America, 2003
The proximal biceps tendon is a significant source of shoulder pain that may be treated with biceps tenotomy or tenodesis. Biceps tenodesis has suggested advantages over tenotomy that include maintenance of the length-tension relationship, prevention of muscle atrophy, maintenance of elbow flexion and supination strength, avoidance of cramping pain ...

Biceps Tenodesis

Techniques in Shoulder & Elbow Surgery, 2008
| ABSTRACT Treatment options for the pathology of the long head of the biceps tendon have included nonoperative manage- ment, limited synovectomy, subacromial decompression, repair of rotator cuff pathology, biceps tenotomy, and bi- ceps tenodesis. Current literature for biceps tenodesis has focused on the adaptation of open techniques into arthro ...

Biceps

2011
♦ LHB pathology is a commonn cause of anterior shoulder pain♦ Clinical evaluation and diagnostic imaging are both imprecise♦ Isolated biceps pathology may be present in the younger athlete♦ Degenerative biceps pathology is often associated with rotator cuff pathology♦ Failure to treat concomitant LHB pathology is a cause for surgical failures in many ...
