Disinsertion of the biceps brachii
The American Journal of Surgery, 1956Abstract 1. 1. Seven cases of avulsion or disinsertion of the distal tendon of the biceps brachii were repaired using the method of the Michele keyslot and a fascial graft. 2. 2. The procedure is simple and yields good restoration of function.

Disorders of the Distal Biceps Brachii Tendon
RadioGraphics, 2005Pathologic conditions of the distal biceps brachii tendon are of clinical interest, with partial and complete tears being the most common. However, the anatomy of the distal biceps brachii tendon makes imaging of the distal tendon somewhat difficult. An innovation in patient positioning for magnetic resonance (MR) imaging of the distal biceps tendon ...

Rupture of the Distal Biceps Brachii Tendon
The Journal of Trauma: Injury, Infection, and Critical Care, 1986A 53-year-old male, while lifting a heavy object, suffered a rupture of the distal biceps brachii tendon. Due to extremely well developed musculature, the patient had retained surprisingly good powers of supination and flexion, albeit decreased in comparison to the other side. During the following operation, the torn tendon was sutured to the tendon of

Extra‐articular origin of biceps brachii
Arthroscopy, 2001Abstract We report a clinically relevant anatomic variation of the tendon of the long head of biceps brachii muscle. The clinical and historically relevant data regarding an anatomic finding observed in 1 patient are reviewed. The clinical outcome of the patient's care was successful.

Chondroepitrochlearis and a supernumerary head of the biceps brachii
Anatomical Science International, 2019Unique variants of the pectoralis major and biceps brachii were found during a routine student dissection of a 96-year-old Caucasian female's axilla and brachium. The donor cadaver had bilateral presentation of a muscle originating from the pectoralis major, near the lateral lip of the intertubercular groove, extending obliquely to insert on the medial

Calcifying tendinopathy of the biceps brachii in a dog
Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, 1992Calcifying tendinopathy of the biceps brachii was associated with lameness in a 1.5-year-old Rottweiler. Lameness was relieved by excision of the calcified mass and suture repair of the partially ruptured tendon. Calcifying tendinopathy is not well described in dogs, but it is a recognized clinical syndrome in human beings.

Traumatic rupture of the biceps brachii
The American Journal of Surgery, 1935Abstract Traumatic rupture of the long head of the biceps brachii muscle by indirect force is illustrated by 3 industrial cases; 2 were operated on, and details of the operative procedure given in the third case, with recommendation of a new method of reattachment of the avulsed tendon.

Distal biceps ruptures occur most commonly in middle-aged males and result from an eccentric extension load that is applied to the elbow. The injury typically presents with pain and a tearing sensation in the antecubital fossa with resultant weakness in flexion and supination strength.

Acute injuries to the biceps range in severity from mild strains and contusions to complete tendon and muscle belly ruptures. As with many muscles and tendons, injuries tend to occur during eccentric loading of the muscle, such as resisting a force attempting to extend the elbow and pronate the forearm.
