Categorical aspects of the theory of quasi-uniform spaces
This is a survey for the working topologist of several categorical aspects of the bicompletion of functorial quasiuniformities. We consider functors $F\::\:\mathbf{Top_{o}}\longrightarrow\mathbf{QU_{o}}$ from the $T_{o}$-topological spaces to the $T_ ...

µ-Bicomplete Categories and Parity Games
For an arbitrary category, we consider the least class of functors con- taining the projections and closed under finite products, finite coproducts, parameterized initial algebras and parameterized final coalgebras, i.e. the class of functors that are definable by μ-terms. We call the category μ-bicomplete if every μ-term defines a functor.

Quasi-Uniform Completeness In Terms Of Cauchy Nets
. The notion of completeness for quasi-uniform spaces developed in [Smy93] and [Sun93] is presented in terms of nets rather than filters. As a byproduct, we get a new characterisation of completability and the result that for all completable spaces the ...

Studies on ultraquasi-pseudometrics and orderings
Ultraquasi-pseudometric spaces even though quite simple in concept, as it is easily obtained by altering the usual triangle inequality property, still yield interesting results.

Quasi-Metrics, Similarities and Searches: Aspects of Geometry of Protein Datasets
A quasi-metric is a distance function which satisfies the triangle inequality but is not symmetric: it can be thought of as an asymmetric metric. Quasi-metrics were first introduced in 1930s and are a subject of intensive research in the context of ...

On classes of maps with the extension property to the bicompletion in quasi-pseudo metric spaces
Extensions of CS-regular maps from a dense subset of a metric space to the whole space are discussed in the literature. It is the purpose of this paper to present results on extensions of these maps to the bicompletion in separated quasipseudo metric spaces, and in addition we discuss extensions of maps that preserve some special property.

On the extension of classes of continuous maps to the bicompletion in quasi-uniform spaces
In [6] characterizations of continuous maps between uniform spaces in terms of nets and filters are provided. Also, extensions of maps defined on a dense subset of a uniform space that preserve Cauchy filterbases between uniform spaces to the whole space are discussed.
