A Conversation With David Bellhouse

open access: yesInternational Statistical Review, Volume 94, Issue 2, Page 221-241, August 2026.
Summary David Richard Bellhouse was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on 19 July 1948. He studied actuarial mathematics and statistics at the University of Manitoba (BA, 1970; MA, 1972) and completed his PhD at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, in 1975. After being an Assistant Professor for 1 year at his alma mater, he joined the University of Western ...

On Some Distance Spectral Characteristics of Trees

open access: yesAxioms
Graham and Pollack in 1971 presented applications of eigenvalues of the distance matrix in addressing problems in data communication systems. Spectral graph theory employs tools from linear algebra to retrieve the properties of a graph from the spectrum ...

On the Exponential Atom-Bond Connectivity Index of Graphs

open access: yesMathematics
Several topological indices are possibly the most widely applied graph-based molecular structure descriptors in chemistry and pharmacology. The capacity of topological indices to discriminate is a crucial component of their study.

On Bond Incident Degree Indices of Fixed-Size Bicyclic Graphs with Given Matching Number

open access: yesMathematics
A connected graph with p vertices and q edges satisfying q=p+1 is referred to as a bicyclic graph. This paper is concerned with an optimal study of the BID (bond incident degree) indices of fixed-size bicyclic graphs with a given matching number. Here, a

On the multiplicative sum Zagreb index of molecular graphs

open access: yesOpen Mathematics
Multiplicative sum Zagreb index is a modified version of the famous Zagreb indices. For a graph GG, the multiplicative sum Zagreb index is defined as Π1*(G)=∏uv∈E(G)(dG(u)+dG(v)){\Pi }_{1}^{* }\left(G)={\prod }_{uv\in E\left(G)}\left({d}_{G}\left(u)+{d}_{

Hosoya Indices of Bicyclic Graphs

open access: yesCroatica Chemica Acta, 2009
Given a molecular graph G, the Hosoya index Z(G) of G is defined as the total number of the matchings of the graph. Let Bn denote the set of bicyclic graphs on n vertices. In this paper, the minimal, the second-, the third-, the fourth-, and the fifth-minimal Hosoya indices of bicyclic graphs in the set Bn are characterized.
