Photo‐Gated Corona Microfluidics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Photo‐gated corona microfluidics decouples optical programming from electric‐field actuation to enable reconfigurable manipulation on open, electrode‐pattern‐free surfaces. Near‐infrared irradiation locally melts paraffin, creating a reversible charge‐relaxation pathway that reconstructs the electric field.

Matrix Stiffness Enhances Odontogenic Differentiation of DPSCs through Membrane Curvature Protein Baiap2‐Modulated Exosome Release

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Matrix stiffness softening is identified as a previously underappreciated feature in deep caries. Higher stiffness drives exosome release in dental pulp stem cells through a coordinated mechanism involving PI3K–AKT‐regulated Baiap2 and kinesin‐1, thereby promoting odontogenic differentiation.

Differential Tissue‐Coupled Powering for Battery‐Free Injectable Electroceuticals

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A thread‐like injectable neural stimulator is powered through differential tissue‐coupled powering (DTCP), which harvests RF‐frequency tissue potentials with an elongated receiver while preserving a injectable cross‐section. The system integrates an ASIC, stimulation electrodes, and a portable transmitter, enabling wireless peripheral nerve stimulation,

Systematic Multi‐Level Analyses Decode the Arthritis‐Neurodegeneration Axis With In Vivo Validation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Arthritis and neurodegeneration are usually studied as separate disorders, but this study connects them through population evidence, genetic inference, transcriptomic mapping, and mouse models. It highlights RNF40 as a context‐dependent joint‐brain candidate, induced in inflammatory joints yet functionally linked to dopamine‐neuron vulnerability ...

Developing Soft Interconnected Microchannel Network for 2D Skin‐Like Actuator

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A soft interconnected network of microchannels is proposed to develop new pneumatic actuators for future bio‐inspired soft robots. Simultaneous stimulation of this network generates regional asymmetric strains in walls of microchannels whose interaction across the entire surface leads to bending curvatures in multidimensions.

An Improved Triple Interline DC Power Flow Controller for Bidirectional Power Control

2020 IEEE REGION 10 CONFERENCE (TENCON), 2020
For the operational safety and stability of electrical system, effective power flow control in meshed high voltage direct current (HVDC) grids makes sense. In order to realize the objective of controlling several lines simultaneously and independently in a convenient way, interline dc power flow controller (IDCPFC) has been introduced.

Research on power electronic transformer with bidirectional power flow

2016 IEEE 8th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (IPEMC-ECCE Asia), 2016
As a major part of the future smart grid, it's important for power electronic transformer (PET) to ensure the bidirectional flow of power. This paper analyzes the bidirectional flow of power of three phase bidirectional PWM converter and bidirectional DC-DC converter.

Bidirectional power flow control of a power converter using passive Hamiltonian techniques

International Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications, 2007
AbstractA controller able to achieve bidirectional power flow for a boost‐like full‐bridge rectifier is presented. It is shown that no single output yields a stable zero dynamics for power flowing both ways. The controller is computed using port Hamiltonian passivity techniques for a suitable generalized state space averaging truncation of the system ...

A bidirectional power flow controller for EVs to support the grid

2015 50th International Universities Power Engineering Conference (UPEC), 2015
The spreading of electrical vehicles leads to a positive impact on the mobility field from the ecological, economical and efficiency point of view. Unfortunately this diffusion is also potentially capable of negative reverberations on distribution and transmission networks, since EVs can be considered as a new load category. Rather than preventing this

Power flow control based on bidirectional converter for hybrid power generation system using microcontroller

Microprocessors and Microsystems, 2021
Abstract Energy flow management of photovoltaic (PV) based ON-Grid system using BDC converter is analysed and implemented in this paper. The intermittent nature of renewable energies makes the unstable operation of utility grid system. In order to ensure the stable operation of the utility grid system and to support smart grid functionalities, there ...
