Burnout–Depression Overlap: Exploratory Structural Equation Modeling Bifactor Analysis and Network Analysis

Assessment, 2020
Burnout has been viewed as a work-induced condition combining exhaustion, cynicism, and professional inefficacy. Using correlational analyses, an exploratory structural equation modeling bifactor analysis, structural regression analyses, and a network analysis, we examined the claim that burnout should not be mistaken for a depressive syndrome.

Examining the Factor Structure and Incremental Utility of the Contrast Avoidance Questionnaires via Bifactor Analysis

Journal of Personality Assessment, 2022
The negative emotional contrast avoidance model posits that pathological worry is maintained by the avoidance of negative emotional shifts. The Contrast Avoidance Questionnaires (CAQ-Worry and CAQ-General Emotion) aim to assess contrast avoidance beliefs and behaviors.

The Structure of Suicidal Beliefs: A Bifactor Analysis of the Suicide Cognitions Scale

open access: yesCognitive Therapy and Research, 2018
The Suicide Cognitions Scale (SCS) was developed to measure a broad spectrum of suicidogenic cognitions collectively referred to as the suicidal belief system. Prior confirmatory factor analyses have suggested both a unidimensional and multidimensional structure and high intercorrelations among identified factors, suggesting the possible influence of ...

Factor Structure and Incremental Utility of the Distress Tolerance Scale: A Bifactor Analysis

Assessment, 2018
The Distress Tolerance Scale (DTS) is a self-report measure of perceived capacity to withstand aversive emotions. Initial factor analysis of this measure suggested a structure comprising one higher-order factor and four lower-order domain-specific factors.

Disentangling Self-Control from Its Elements: A Bifactor Analysis

Journal of Quantitative Criminology, 2014
Disentangle self-control from its elements and provide several new insights into the self-control dimensionality debate including: the proportion explained variance in scale items attributed to self-control and its elements, the viability of using total and individual scores to measure self-control and its elements in observed variable analyses, and ...
