Tight bifunctional hierarchical catalyst
Chemical Communications, 2011A new concept to prepare tight bifunctional catalysts has been developed, by anchoring CoMo(6) clusters on hierarchical ZSM-5 zeolites for simultaneous use in HDS and hydrocracking catalysis. The prepared material displays a significant improved activity in HDS catalysis compared to the impregnated counterpart.

Bifunctional binding and catalysis
Supramolecular Chemistry, 1993Abstract Cyclodextrin dimers can show very strong binding of appropriate substrates, and also significant geometric recognition. When the link between the two cyclodextrin rings carries a catalytic group, good turnover catalysis can be observed. The binding and catalytic properties are comparable with those of some catalytic antibodies.

Bifunctional Micellar Catalysis [PDF]
Surfactants 16, 16-OH, 16-Im, and 16-OH,Im were examined as micellar catalysts for the hydrolysis of p-nitrophenyl acetate (PNPA) and hexanoate (PNPH) in 0.01 M and 0.4 M aqueous phosphate buffers at pH 8.0. The kinetic data is presented and discussed.

Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the mechanism and properties of various bifunctional reagents such as bifunctional maleimide derivatives, alkyl halides, aryl halides, and isocyanates. Three general types of product are considered in the reaction of proteins with bifunctional reagents, each product providing different ways of gathering ...

Zeolite Bifunctional Catalysis
1984Bifunctional zeolite catalysts, generally metal-loaded acid zeolites are employed in numerous processes in petroleum refining and in petrochemical industries (1,2) : hydrocracking, selectoforming, dewaxing, hydroisomerization of C5-C6 alkanes, hydroisomerization of C8 aromatics...

Coking on Bifunctional Catalysts
1987Abstract The coking on bifunctional naphtha reforming catalysts was studied to find out which are the coke precursors and the mechanism of their formation. Runs feeding pure hydrocarbons (mainly n-paraffins) and naphtha doped with hydrocarbons were performed at 500°C and various pressures with bifunctional, acidic, and metallic catalysts.
