MetalCenter‐Dependent Selectivity Divergence in MN4 Single‐Atom Catalysts for Aerobic HMF Oxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Two single‐atom catalysts with M‐N4 configurations (FeN4 and CoN4) were developed for selective HMF oxidation. FeN4 achieves 93.9% selectivity toward FFCA via superoxide anions (O2•−), while CoN4 preferentially produces FDCA through hydroxyl radicals (•OH). DFT calculations reveal that distinct adsorption energies and charge redistribution at the metal

Detecting and Traversing Bifurcation Points in Nonlinear Structural Analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
We investigate procedures for detecting and traversing bifurcation points that occur in the geometrically nonlinear analysis of elastic structures. In particular, we study a family of test functions for sharp detection and identification of bifurcation ...

Reinnervation of Muscle Targets Enhances the Separability of Motor Unit Signals Following Peripheral Nerve Transfers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Injured or cut peripheral nerves can be surgically rerouted to reinnervate new muscle targets. This study demonstrates reinnervated muscles exhibit enhanced separability between individual motor unit signals, which can simplify signal recording and decomposition. These findings highlight the potential of reinnervated muscle to serve as a key biological

Bifurcation points of nonlinear operators: existence theorems, asymptotics and application to the Vlasov-Maxwell system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Existence theorems about bifurcation points of solutions for nonlinear operator equation in Banach spaces are proved. The sucient conditions of bifurcation of solutions of boundary-value problem for Vlasov-Maxwell system are obtained.

Bioinspired Interfacial Hydration Engineering via Metal–Organic Frameworks for Efficient Nitrate‐To‐Ammonia Conversion in Neutral Media

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by Nitrite reductase, a metal–organic framework overlayer is introduced to regulate the interfacial hydration microenvironment on Cu electrodes, enriching hydrated K+ species that act as efficient proton donors. This strategy enables nitrate‐to‐ammonia conversion with near‐unity selectivity at industrial‐level current densities in neutral ...
