Unique Associations Between Big Five Personality Aspects and Multiple Dimensions of Well-Being.

open access: yesJournal of Personality, 2018
OBJECTIVE Personality traits are associated with well-being, but the precise correlates vary across well-being dimensions and within each Big Five domain.

Cell‐free and extracellular vesicle microRNAs with clinical utility for solid tumors

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cell‐free microRNAs (cfmiRs) are small‐RNA circulating molecules detectable in almost all body biofluids. Innovative technologies have improved the application of cfmiRs to oncology, with a focus on clinical needs for different solid tumors, but with emphasis on diagnosis, prognosis, cancer recurrence, as well as treatment monitoring.

Measurement and research using the Big Five, HEXACO, and narrow traits: A primer for researchers and practitioners

open access: yesAustralian journal of psychology, 2019
Objective Personality traits influence human behaviour across a broad range of situations and are consequently relevant to many theoretical and applied disciplines.

Targeting rapid TKI‐induced AXL upregulation overcomes adaptive ERK reactivation and exerts antileukemic effects in FLT3/ITD acute myeloid leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptive ERK reactivation hinders FLT3 tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) treatment in FLT3/ITD acute myeloid leukemia. Here, we report that FLT3 TKI treatment rapidly induces AXL expression and upregulation that is temporally associated with the adaptive ERK reactivation.

The Stability of Big-Five Personality Traits [PDF]

open access: yes
We use a large, nationally-representative sample of working-age adults to demonstrate that personality (as measured by the Big Five) is stable over a four-year period. Average personality changes are small and do not vary substantially across age groups.

Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) trajectories predict survival in trifluridine/tipiracil‐treated metastatic colorectal cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The authors applied joint/mixed models that predict mortality of trifluridine/tipiracil‐treated metastatic colorectal cancer patients based on circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) trajectories. Patients at high risk of death could be spared aggressive therapy with the prospect of a higher quality of life in their remaining lifetime, whereas patients with a ...

Kangaroo Methods for Solving the Interval Discrete Logarithm Problem [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
The interval discrete logarithm problem is defined as follows: Given some $g,h$ in a group $G$, and some $N \in \mathbb{N}$ such that $g^z=h$ for some $z$ where $0 \leq z < N$, find $z$. At the moment, kangaroo methods are the best low memory algorithm to solve the interval discrete logarithm problem.

Random Forests for Big Data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Big Data is one of the major challenges of statistical science and has numerous consequences from algorithmic and theoretical viewpoints. Big Data always involve massive data but they also often include online data and data heterogeneity.

The Relationship Between Trait Emotional Intelligence and Personality. Is Trait EI Really Anchored Within the Big Five, Big Two and Big One Frameworks?

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2019
Pérez-González and Sánchez-Ruiz (2014) published a study in which they found that trait emotional intelligence can be considered a broad personality trait integrated into the higher levels of a multi-level personality hierarchy.
