Assessment of Factors Contributing to Infection Severity and High Levels of Drug Resistance in Clinical Enterococcus Isolates

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, EarlyView.
E. faecalis was the predominant species (60.7%). Moreover, 39.3% of the isolates were identified as VRE with an MIC > 32 μg/mL, and the vanA gene was detected in 35.7% of the isolates. High‐level resistance to gentamicin and streptomycin was observed in 60.7% and 50% of the isolates, respectively.

Effect of Urgent ERCP on Clinical Outcomes in Acute Cholangitis With Concurrent Acute Gallstone Pancreatitis: A Propensity Score Matching Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background/Purpose Current guidelines do not provide specific recommendations regarding the timing of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) in patients with acute cholangitis (AC) concurrent with acute gallstone pancreatitis (AGP). This study evaluated the impact of ERCP timing on clinical outcomes.
