The interpretation that bimodal colour distributions of globular clusters (GCs) reflect bimodal metallicity distributions has been challenged. Non-linearities in the colour to metallicity conversions caused by the horizontal branch (HB) stars may be ...

Bimodal seismicity in the Himalaya controlled by fault friction and geometry
There is increasing evidence that the Himalayan seismicity can be bimodal: blind earthquakes (up to Mw ~ 7.8) tend to cluster in the downdip part of the seismogenic zone, whereas infrequent great earthquakes (Mw 8+) propagate up to the Himalayan frontal ...

The Bimodal Color Distribution of Small Kuiper Belt Objects [PDF]
We conducted a two-night photometric survey of small Kuiper Belt objects (KBOs) near opposition using the wide-field Hyper Suprime-Cam instrument on the 8.2 m Subaru Telescope.

Matrix Stiffness Governs Fibroblasts’ Regulation of Gingival Immune Homeostasis
This study identifies a “mechano‐epigenetic” checkpoint in which matrix stiffness governs the immune responses of gingival fibroblasts. Using biomimetic hydrogels and human gingival explants, the studies revealed that restoring extracellular matrix stiffness actively suppresses inflammation via non‐canonical NF‐κB signaling and DNA methylation ...

Theoretical and Experimental Analysis of Single-Arm Bimodal Plasmo-Photonic Refractive Index Sensors
In this paper, we study both theoretically and experimentally the sensitivity of bimodal interferometric sensors where interference occurs between two plasmonic modes with different properties propagating in the same physical waveguide.

Mass and energy distributions of fission fragments obtained in the reactions 22Ne + 249Cf, 26Mg + 248Cm, and 22Ne + 238U have been measured. A special attention will be paid on the properties of mass-energy distribution of fission fragments obtained in the reaction 26Mg + 248Cm at an excitation energy of 35 MeV.

Recent Progress on Flexible Multimodal Sensors: Decoupling Strategies, Fabrication and Applications
In this review, we establish a tripartite decoupling framework for flexible multimodal sensors, which elucidates the underlying principles of signal crosstalk and their solutions through material design, structural engineering, and AI algorithms. We also demonstrate its potential applications across environmental monitoring, health monitoring, human ...

Opportunities for Multiscale Pattern Modulation with Temporally Arrested Breath Figures
This works presents the temporally arrested breath figure methodology and its opportunities for pattern modulation. Through thermodynamic and photochemical phase change handles, this method uses drop‐wise condensation as a dynamic template for fast, accessible and scalable micropatterning.

Trends in Longer-Term Corrosion Loss of Magnesium Alloys
The corrosion of magnesium alloys is often considered to differ in behaviour and development with time from most other metals and alloys because they show evolution of hydrogen right from first exposure.
