Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Bimodal distribution of nested PCR-positive probabilities.
The 21 OR genes tested in this study are binned according to the probability of observing a PCR product at the 400-cell input level across 22 OP6 cultures in two divergent lineages (see Fig 3).

Generalized Centered Binomial Distribution for Bimodal Lattice Signatures
In CRYPTO 2013, Ducas et al. introduced a bimodal discrete Gaussian distribution into the Fiat-Shamir with abort paradigm, proposing a signature scheme called BLISS, which significantly improved rejection sampling efficiency and reduced the number of ...

Unimodal head-width distribution of the European eel (Anguilla anguilla L.) from the Zeeschelde does not support disruptive selection [PDF]
Since the early 20th century, European eels (Anguilla anguilla L.) have been dichotomously classified into ‘narrow’ and ‘broad’ heads. These morphs are mainly considered the result of a differential food choice, with narrow heads feeding primarily on ...

Modelling Bimodal Data Using a Multivariate Triangular-Linked Distribution
Bimodal distributions have rarely been studied although they appear frequently in datasets. We develop a novel bimodal distribution based on the triangular distribution and then expand it to the multivariate case using a Gaussian copula. To determine the

An Asymmetric Bimodal Distribution with Application to Quantile Regression [PDF]
In this article, we study an extension of the sinh Cauchy model in order to obtain asymmetric bimodality. The behavior of the distribution may be either unimodal or bimodal. We calculate its cumulative distribution function and use it to carry out quantile regression. We calculate the maximum likelihood estimators and carry out a simulation study.

Advancing Age Modulates Associations Between Cognitive Impairment and Brain Volumes in Early MS
ABSTRACT Introduction Cognitive impairment is common in multiple sclerosis (MS), but manifestations following the first demyelinating event are relatively unexplored. We investigated cross‐sectional associations between magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)–derived brain volumes and the presence of cognitive impairment outcomes five years after the first ...

It is common in many fields of knowledge to assume that the data under study have a normal distribution, which often generates mistakes in the results, since this assumption does not always coincide with the characteristics of the observations under ...

On the Bimodal Distributions of Horizontal Branches [PDF]
New synthetic horizontal branch (HB) models are presented for some globular clusters known to have bimodal HB distributions. These models are based on new Yale HB evolutionary tracks for Y=0.25 and the core masses appropriate for the compositions. The distribution of stellar masses along the HB is given by a slightly modified version of Rood's (1973 ...

Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.
